* | doc: Document Qt namespace in multiple modulesMartin Smith2018-06-012-44/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | qdoc didn't handle this. This update fixes most of what was wrong, but tuning the details of the namespace reference pages might follw. We have namespace Qt as an exaqmple. Most of the elements in the Qt namespace are in QtCore, but a few functions are declared in QtGui. Before this update, qdoc used the hack of using #ifdef to remove the declarations from qtextdocument.h in QtGui and .cpp and then added them back into qtnamespace.h and .cpp in QtCore. Now that hack is no longer necessary. The functions in the Qt namespace that are declared in QtGui are documented there, but the documentation is linked to from the namespace reference page, which remains in QtCore. That is, only one \namespace command is used to document the Qt namespace, and it appears in qnamespace.qdoc where it always did, but the documentation for the Qt namespace functions declared in QtGui is now appears in qtextdocument.cpp where it belongs. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Qt already has the widget attribute WA_StyleSheet to which indicates that a widget was subject to a style sheet, but it doesn't indicate that the widget was actually affected by the style sheet. For example, an application style sheet will set the WA_StyleSheet attribute on all widgets, even if it only targets QPushButtons. The WA_StyleSheetTarget new attribute pairs with WA_StyleSheet to give this extra information. [ChangeLog][QtWidgets] Added the Qt::WA_StyleSheetTarget attribute to indicate that a widget was affected by a style sheet. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We began using abort() on 25d6f312ac5b42a6bbca4d1c3c06742d97283e14 (5.8), which improved since we stopped using exit() with MSVC. However, abort() with MinGW and on debug-mode MSVC's CRT calls _exit(), which attempts to cleanly unload the DLLs, which in turn may run global destructors. [ChangeLog][QtCore][Important behavior changes] qFatal() no longer uses std::abort() on Windows, as there are circumstances where global destructors are still run after that call, leading to possible deadlocks. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There had been a fake declaration for qEnvironmentVariable() in qglobal.h thaqt was only visible to QDoc. It was removed in favor of documenting both the actual declarations of qEnvironmentVariable(), one with a 2nd parameter for passing a defualt value and one without that parameter. But the one without the default value parameter was marked internal, so it didn't appear in the docs. When both functions were documented with a shared comment, a bug in QDoc was revealed, because these functions are global, while the shared comment functionality had only been implemented for class member functions. Now the shared comment functionality has been implemented for global functions, so these two functions are now documented with a shared comment. We can, of course, reintroduce the #ifdef QCLANG_QDOC trick, if that is pre3ferred. Change-Id: I41d85def5daa3215a995d7697d064dfae37e8b2a Reviewed-by: Thiago Macieira <thiago.macieira@intel.com>

|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a long overdue change so we don't break ADL of operator|. I think will not break source or binary compatibility. The problem is code like this: namespace Foo { struct MyStruct; MyStruct operator|(MyStruct, MyStruct); void someFunction() { fooLabel->setAlignement(Qt::AlignLeft | Qt::AlignTop) } } This would be an error before as ADL would find only the Foo::operator| and not the global one since the arguments are not in the global namespace. After this change, ADL works fine and this code compiles This bites people with misterious error, see questions on https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10755058/qflags-enum-type-conversion-fails-all-of-a-sudden https://stackoverflow.com/questions/39919142/broken-bitwise-or-operator-in-a-qt-project [ChangeLog][QtCore] QFlags's operator| for enum types in the Qt namespace are now declared in the Qt namespace itself. The attribute is only used to work around an issue with dllimport on windows, so limit its use to that platform, to avoid issues with it potentially being unsupported on platforms other than macOS as well. This commit adds support for qsizetype, which isn't int on 64-bit platforms. We do this by reorganizing the code and using the generic version of __builtin_{add,sub,mul}_overflow from GCC 5 and Clang 3.8, which ICC 18 seems to support now too on Linux. That leaves older versions of GCC and Clang, as well as MSVC, ICC on Windows, and the GHS compiler, to use the generic implementations, as I've removed the assembly code those versions of GCC and Clang on x86 are now uncommon. Note: any older version of ICC probably breaks. We only support the latest. Change-Id: I9e2892cb6c374e93bcb7fffd14fc11bcd5f067a7 Reviewed-by: Allan Sandfeld Jensen <allan.jensen@qt.io>

This is due to e.g. Qt Creator running the application without a console, so qt_logging_to_console() returns false, so we end up in e.g. the win_message_handler(), calling OutputDebugString, but then we unconditionally print to stderr, which Creator also reads, so we end up with duplicated log messages. Unfortunately that broke debug output in Qt Creator, as Creator doesn't seem to run applications with a controlling TTY unless it itself was started with one, and doesn't set QT_LOGGING_TO_CONSOLE to force log console output either.
