Avoid creating a QDateTime in the resource that will almost
never get used. Constructing the date time is expensive as we

To read data from a named pipe, QWindowsPipeReader uses the ReadFileEx()
function which runs asynchronously. When reading is completed and the
thread is in an alertable wait state, the notified() callback is called
by the system, reporting a completion status of that operation. Then the
callback queues a readyRead signal and starts a new sequence. The latter
is skipped if the pipe is broken or the read buffer is full.
Thus, if an application does not run the event loop, the next call to
QWindowsPipeReader::waitForReadyRead() should emit the queued signal
and report true to the caller even if no new read operation was started.

Use QT_CONFIG(regularexpression), disentangle it from QT_BOOTSTRAPPED,
switch it off in the bootstrap build, remove the #ifdefs from
qregularexpression.{h|cpp}, and add QT_REQUIRE_CONFIG(regularexpression)
to the header.
qregularexpression.{h|cpp} are already correctly excluded in tools.pri
if !qtConfig(regularexpression).

Many Android systems come with a locked down system call list, causing
the statx(2) system call to fail with an unexpected error code or by
delivering a signal to the application. Because of the signal, we can't
do runtime detection...
This is not our bug: it's obviously a mistake in the SECCOMP rules in
Android. But we work around the issue.
Unfortunately, because of a few manufacturers who can't configure their
rules properly, everyone will suffer.

QDir::isAbsolutePath(name) thinks any path starting with a slash is
absolute; however, to return a valid absolute path, we need to put a
drive prefix onto such a name. So use QFileSystemEntry::isAbsolute()
for that check (it believes in the need for a drive, or UNC prefix)
and handle the absolute-but-for-drive case when it arises.
Add a regression test and make related changes to existing tests.

If the QLoggingRegistry gets called as part of the static initialization
phase, it would call into Android's QStandarPaths implementation, which
assumed that the HOME env. variable was already set. Since the variable
isn't set before main is called, QDir::homePath() returns the root path,
which would be cached and always returned.
With this fix we now call Android's getFilesDir() directly, which will
always return the right path. Since the font locations are also relying
on an environment variable being set, we no longer cache that either.

On Android, we load the application library, and its dependencies (Qt),
on Android's main thread (thread 0), and then spin up a secondary
thread (thread 1), that we call main() on.
If any QObject is constructed during loading of the application library
or any of Qt's libraries, via static initializers or constructor
functions, we will set QCoreApplicationPrivate::theMainThread to
thread 0, which will confuse Qt later on when it's being run on
thread 1, and will result in a warning during QCoreApplication
construction:
QApplication was not created in the main() thread
This situation can easily lead to a crash as well.
Unfortunately logging via qDebug/qCDebug and friends will trigger
this too, as they internally use QObject.
Fixing the root cause of this is under investigation, but for now
we will partially revert fa2a653b3b934783 for Android. The effect
is that any qCDebug with a "qt.*" category before qApp construction
will turn into a no-op, like it was before fa2a653b3b934783.
This patch does not cover the case of a regular qDebug, or a qCDebug
with a non-Qt category. Those will still produce the same symptom,
as before fa2a653b3b934783.

QSettings does not preserve the original key type in the registry, it
will set the type for the key based on the value that is being set.
Therefore we should make it clear that existing key types will be
overridden as this can cause some problems with types we do not
directly support (such as REG_EXPAND_SZ).

Although qt_create_pipe() tries again if the pipe name is already
in use, it doesn't handle the case when another user has created
the pipe with the name (the error is "access denied" in that case).
The chance that it happens is small, but it can be entirely
eliminated by including a unique part in the pipe name, in this
case the PID.
[ChangeLog][Windows] Named pipes internally created by QProcess now
contain the PID in their name to ensure uniqueness.

When QFile::open is called with the NewOnly flag, the call will
fail if the file already exists. As usual, if the file does not exist,
it will be created. Like QTemporaryFile, there is a guarantee from
the operating system that you are not accidentally creating a new file
on top of an older file. When QFile::open is called with the
ExistingOnly flag, the call will fail if the file does not exist. The
ExistingOnly flag only provides new functionality when used with the
WriteOnly flag. For ReadOnly it provides no change in functionality,
as ReadOnly by itself already never creates.

On Windows, QFileInfo.isWritable() was returning true in situations
where the file would only be writable with elevated privileges. Using
AccessCheck instead of GetEffectiveRightsFromAcl to get the correct
results.

Code examples make it much easier to learn how an API behaves.
One area that the patch tries to address is the distinction
between a relative URL and a relative path.

This removes at least one special-case we had to have, in Android's lack
of /etc/mnttab. Bionic's _PATH_MOUNTED is already /proc/mounts.

Change 28666d167aa8e602c0bea25ebc4d51b55005db13 simplified
QProcess::start{Process,Detached} by using findExecutable() instead of
using execvp, but this introduced an unintended side effect when the
PATH environment variable isn't set. It turns out that most libc have a
default fallback in that situation, which we didn't apply.
This commit applies the default directly to findExecutable(), which
seems sensible.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QProcess] Fixed a regression that made QProcess be
unable to find executables when the PATH environment variable on some
Unix systems wasn't set. This behavior should not be relied upon since
many systems do not have sensible fallback values for PATH.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QStandardPaths] findExecutable() will now apply the
default value for the PATH environment variable (as returned by the
POSIX confstr(3) function or found in <paths.h>) if the variable
isn't set in the environment.

During the container BoF session at the Qt Contributor Summit 2017 the
name of the signed size type became a subject of discussion in the
context of readability of code using this type and the intention of
using it for all length, size and count properties throughout the entire
framework in future versions of Qt.
This change proposes qsizetype as new name for qssize_t to emphasize the
readability of code over POSIX compatibility, the former being
potentially more relevant than the latter to the majority of users of
Qt.

then will expect the namespace where it was first encountered.

It's a trick used by some C libraries to keep compatibility with BSD
extensions while supporting POSIX.1-2008 API. st_atimensec is defined as
st_atim.tv_nsec, so the code would expand to invalid C++
In substitution of 'template<class T> typename std::enable_if<((&T::st_atim.tv_nsec), true), long long int>::type{anonymous}::GetFileTimes::atime(const T&, int) [with T = stat]':

The assertion in isUnnamedFile() we had was incorrect after the file was
removed, since we cleared the name and possibly reset back to the
template. Since ~QTemporaryFile() calls remove(), this was easy to
trigger if you attempted to remove the temp file and leave
QTemporaryFile like that.
Take this opportunity to add to the docs of setAutoRemove() explaining
the possibility of unnamed files.

When qt_lstatx() succeeds and the target is not a link, we'd erroneously
mark the file as non-existent during the pass to check qt_statx(). All
flags besides the file's modes were cleared.
This is unit-tested, but only happens on Linux kernels 4.12 or later. It
didn't happen to me because I already had this fix applied as part of a
later change relating to QSystemResult.
