* | Fix all tst_qmetatype breakages after QList to QVector aliasingJędrzej Nowacki2019-10-301-0/+46
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In Qt6 QList is just a typedef to QVector. To keep Qt5 behavior compatibility we need to register aliases, otherwise some type name based operations would not work. The patch adds automatic registration of QList metatype alias for every QVector. The patch doesn't cover usage of already typedef'ed and aliased QList and QVector, but that should be quite esoteric, especially after introduction of automatic QList and QVector type registration. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | QRegExp includes can be found in several files where there's not even a use of the class. This patch aims to avoid needless includes as well as follow the "include only what you use" moto. This patch removes a QRegExp include from the QStringList header which means that there is likely going to be code breaking since QStringList is used in many places and would get QRegExp in. [ChangeLog][Potentially Source-Incompatible Changes] qstringlist.h no longer includes qregexp.h. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This feature is needed to register complex types (e.g. Q_GADGETS) at runtime, using a single constructor method and added type parameter. Without having the type id available to the Constructor it is impossible to specialize behavior, thus requiring separate constructors for each type. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We don't load and save pointers usually because the pointer value cannot be guaranteed to remain across program invocations. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit fb376e0fcc8d2d0a1731a588bfc6497d05e090e6 removed an array that facilitated returning the names of built-in types, to avoid the jump tables from the switch statement. This commit brings it back but makes the array a compile-time constant string offset table. The array is created by way of a set of C++11 constexpr functions, so we require that compiler feature. I've tested that MSVC 2015 does support it as well as the ICC 17 when masquerading as MSVC 2015, so I've enabled for that too. The only compiler left out is MSVC 2013. If we didn't need to support MSVC 2015, this could have been written more simply with C++14 relaxed constexpr. This also adds unit tests to confirm that QMetaType::typeName() does return null when we said it would. We're testing QMetaType::User-1 (which we'll likely never use) and QMetaType::LastWidgetsType-1 to select something inside the range of the built-in types. * | Use Q_UNLIKELY for every qFatal()/qCritical()Marc Mutz2015-11-291-2/+2
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If, after checking a condition, we issue a qFatal() or a qCritical(), by definition that check is unlikely to be true. Tell the compiler so it can move the error handling code out of the normal code path to increase the effective icache size. Moved conditional code around where possible so that we could always use Q_UNLIKELY, instead of having to revert to Q_LIKELY here and there. In some cases, simplified the expressions newly wrapped in Q_UNLIKELY as a drive-by. * Be more tolerant with multiple differerent metatype registrationsOlivier Goffart2015-08-261-17/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There is a qFatal in qmetatype.cpp that checks that the flags are the same. There is a binary compatibility break because if any cause build with Qt 5.5 is loaded, this qFatal will quit the application, due to the change in commit 54a09a41885e65fea4ca20d0e3d90d8f4e9e80c5: Type flags for type 'QtMetaTypePrivate::QPairVariantInterfaceImpl' [1034] don't match. Previously registered TypeFlags(0x103), now registering TypeFlags(0x107). This is an ODR break, which means that your application depends on a C++ undefined behavior. This is a false positive since it is an internal type, the MovableType in QMetaType is only being used for performance reason, it is perfectly fine to change it. This commit changes the qFatal to complain only about flags that could only be caused by a binary incompatible change.
