This fixes an issue where iOS, watchOS, and tvOS versions would be
mis-detected as 100 times their version (i.e. iOS 8.0 as iOS 800.0).
Instead of protecting the branch in (version >= 100000) with a macOS
ifdef, we can simply remove it entirely since Qt cannot be run on OSes
where the old encoding was used (macOS < 10.10).

A nullptr QVariant should become a null QString or QByteArray,
since null strings have previous in our APIs represented the null value
in the absence of a dedicated null metatype.

Using a stack buffer and then a growing realloc() buffer can be tidily
packaged by using a QVLA. Passing the reported name length to
QString::fromWCharArray() saves the need for 0-termination, even if it
has been missed. This also degrades gracefully to produce an empty
QString when GetModuleFileName fails (returning 0).

Although Qt declares its minimum supported OS version to the compiler
and linker, the OS ignores this information when loading shared
libraries, so instead of failing with a useful error message, the
program will simply crash at runtime. This attempts to bring that
failure as early in the lifecycle as possible, and provide a better
error message as well.

This removes a lot of duplicated code that existed in both qglobal.cpp
and qsystemerror.cpp, including the hack to get the correct strerror_r
signature.
This removes the incorrect use of EACCES, EMFILE, ENOENT, and ENOSPC
from qt_error_string on Windows. qt_error_string is supposed to be used
only with Win32 error codes from GetLastError(), despite there being a
lot of uses in cross-platform and even Windows-specific code that pass
errno constants.
It may or may not work: that depends on whether the constants happen to
match. ENOENT matches ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND and one could argue that
ENOSPC matching ERROR_OUT_OF_PAPER is acceptable, but EMFILE isn't the
same as ERROR_BAD_LENGTH nor is EACCES, ERROR_INVALID_DATA.

In commit 85ff35126623e6f26c84d9fa8a35b6762aefb110, we removed support
for systems where the pipe2(), dup3(), and accept4() functions are
declared in the libc headers but fail at runtime. On Linux, O_CLOEXEC
was added before accept4(), so if the latter is supported, the former is
too. On the BSDs, the libc headers are updated in lockstep with the
kernel, so we know for sure.
There are still systems that have O_CLOEXEC (a POSIX.1-2008 flag) but
not the extra functions (Solaris and Darwin). Solaris libc must update
like the BSDs, but on Darwin we do build with a new SDK targeting an
old OS. Fortunately, O_CLOEXEC has been supported since 10.7, so we're
out of the woods.

The documentation claims that QGuiApplication forwards the top-level
windows. However this appears to be a search & replace mistake from the
QApplication <> QGuiApplication separation times. Only QApplication
forwards the event to top-level widgets and changeEvent() is a virtual
method of QWidget. Nothing is implemented for plain QGuiApplication and
QWindow.

Code like:
QElapsedTimer timer;
timer.start();
QTest::qWait(30);
QVERIFY(timer.elapsed() >= 30);
is failing, because qWait sleeps in increments of 10 ms and the last
chunk may be off by less than one millisecond, so we end up sleeping too
little and thus returning before 30 ms have elapsed.
This matches the QElapsedTimer::elapsed() code that rounds down:
return nsecsElapsed() / Q_INT64_C(1000000);

I'll need it soon in QTemporaryFile. This also reduces the overhead,
since QFile::exists -> QFileInfo::exists needs to check if there's a
file engine that handles "/proc/version" (there isn't), convert the
UTF-16 filename to UTF-8 and QFileSystemEngine::fillMetaData will issue
a more expensive stat(2) syscall.
access(2) is cheaper.
This commit also introduces QT_LINUX_ALWAYS_HAVE_PROCFS that isn't
defined anywhere, but could be passed during configure with -D if a
build wants it.

The hang happend when using QtAndroidPrivate::requestPermissions before
the QApplication::exec. Android UI calls "sendRequestPermissionsResult"
which was blocking until the event is delivered, but the qt main loop is
blocked and waits for the main surface to be created by the Android UI
thread which is already blocked.
With this patch sendRequestPermissionsResult won't block for the result

This reverts commit ac0184d6085d9e4f7f59352e563055311f4d8792. That
commit added the use of qHash in qt_safe_ftok, which made ftok even more
unsafe than previously. Since the algorithm in qHash can change across
Qt versions, we need a stable algorithm instead.
[ChangeLog][Important Behavior Changes] Reverted a change that caused Qt
5.6 through 5.8 not to connect to QSystemSemaphore and QSharedMemory
created by running applications using Qt earlier than
5.6. Unfortunately, this means that Qt 5.9 will not connect to 5.6-5.8.

The events may come from QPA, as spontaneous events, or from other parts
of Qt, as non-spontaneous events. We should keep the state of the original
event.
Introduces QCoreApplication::forwardEvent() as a wrapper around the
opaquely named notifyInternal2. Ideally this would be the behavior of
sendEvent, with an enum argument to override the flag, but that ship
has sailed.

Add a comment, to describe the relation of
QObjectPrivate::currentChildBeingDeleted and
QObjectData::isDeletingChildren, given that this field is defined
in an entirely other file on a base-class, making it severely
non-obvious to the reader.
