QPointer uses QWeakPointer / QSharedPointer internals in QObject and has
the code to make sure two threads won't stomp on each other if both try
to create a QPointer for the same QObject at the same time. The
threading code was fine, but had a mistake in the clean up code for the
loser thread: the QtSharedPointer::ExternalRefCountData destructor has a
Q_ASSERT for the state of the reference counts. So we need to set the
state correctly before calling the destructor.
But we don't want to do it in case the Q_ASSERT compiled to nothing. So
we use a hack that violates the Second Rule of Q_ASSERTs: don't do
something with side-effects. This way, we can insert code that will only
be compiled if Q_ASSERTs do something, without having to duplicate the
preprocessor conditions from qglobal.h.

This only updates data on languages already present in 5.12; once it
has merged up to dev, the scripts need to be run again to pick up a
few more languages and possibly add any more new languages present in
v34. Change some tests to match changes in en_AU's abbreviated day
and month names.

QList, QVector and QVarLengthArray check the validity of iterators
passed to member functions using isValidIterator(), which checks that
the underlying pointers are in the range [begin, end]. This check is
well-defined when the outcome is positive, ie. when the iterator is
valid. But if the iterator is not valid, and does not happen to point
into [end, begin + capacity], the comparison, which uses normal
operator<, invokes UB.
Fix by using std::less<T*>, which defines a total ordering.

When a time-zone does a spring-forward, skipping an hour (either to
start DST or to move its standard time), there's an hour that doesn't
exist on the day in question. That hour can be the first hour of the
day, in which case using 0:0 as the default time is broken. So catch
this case and use the first time that day that makes sense.

Commit 8b6100d512 removed
bool QtPrivate::QStringList_contains(const QStringList *that, const QString &str, ...)
(in favor of a QStringView overload). However this was used inline in
qstringlist.h, so apps were referencing that symbol directly.
As a result, upgrading to Qt 5.12 gave errors like
libKF5ConfigCore.so.5.50.0: undefined reference to `QtPrivate::QStringList_contains(QStringList const*, QString const&, Qt::CaseSensitivity)@Qt_5'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

With g++ 8.2.0, I get warnings when a QVarLengthArray<QString> calls
remove() or prepend(), as some tests in tst_QVarLengthArray do, as
they call memmove() "writing to an object of type ‘class QString’ with
no trivial copy-assignment; use copy-assignment or copy-initialization
instead"; which may indeed be a good argument for not using
QVarLengthArray<QString>, but its own tests do.

QTzTimeZonePrivate's methods were iterating transitions from first to
last, or last to first, to find where .atMSecsSinceEpoch crossed some
threshold; but the transitions are sorted in order of increasing
.atMSecsSinceEpoch, so binary chop would be more efficient than such
linear searches. So use std::partition_point() instead.

The tz database's latest update now records the cases where summer
time is deemed standard and winter-time is deemed DST. (This doesn't
change what the offsets are, just how they're described.) The
resulting negative DST offsets mess up the algorithm for converting
local time to UTC, causing tst_QTimeZone::transitionEachZone() to fail
for Europe/Dublin in the hour before its transition; so refine the
algorithm to cope with the new case.

QRegularExpression doesn't offer a direct equivalent of QRegExp's exact

There are several places in the Qt sources that use this feature. This
patch implements a small helper function that builds the expression as
recommended in the documentation and updates the related code.
[ChangeLog][Core][Tools] QRegularExpression now provides
anchoredPattern() which is a helper function to build regular
expressions used for exact matching.

The API originally proposed was flawed in the sense that the setter
function would use a modified version of the parameter given which would
have make it a black box for the user. This patch fixes that by removing
that setter and providing a static method that will return the pattern
suitably modified to be used by QRegularExpression the same way the
escape method does.
