| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Change c2c3452ba introduced a new API in Qt to let QPA inform whether or not shortcuts should be shown in context menus. This was set to false by default, since by observation, this seemed to be the most common behavior across platforms. The problem is that it left no way for the application to override it; The attribute Qt::AA_DontShowShortcutsInContextMenus simply doesn't work when shortcuts are always off. And for some application, showing shortcuts is not just a matter of look-and-feel, but also important information to be able to use the application the way intended. This patch reverts the behavior back to how it was in Qt-5.9, where shortcuts where shown by default (except on macOS where we still keep them off). It's no so much because the "always off" logic is wrong, but because there is no (easy) way/work-around for an app developer to switch them back on (until Qt-5.13, where a new API is introduced to fix the situation: b1a9a77). And this lack of API can be a show-stopper for some when upgrading from e.g 5.9 LTS to 5.12 LTS. This downside of this patch, OTOH, is that it can cause more change that what is normally wanted in a patch release. But out of two evils, this is the best option. Those that wan't to hide shortcuts can set AA_DontShowShortcutsInContextMenus to true, which now will work. [ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QMenu] Shortcuts are again shown by default in context menus, except on macOS. They can be forced off by setting AA_DontShowShortcutsInContextMenus to true. During a normal text selection by mouse (LeftButton press + mouse move event), it's now possible to quickly select all the text from the start of the selection to the end of the line edit by moving the mouse cursor down. By moving it up instead, all the text up to the start of the line edit gets selected. If the layout direction is right-to-left, the semantic of the mouse movement is inverted. This feature is only enabled if the y() of the mouse move event is bigger than a fixed threshold, to avoid unexpected selections in the normal case. This threshold is set by the QPlatformTheme and a value smaller than zero disables this feature. The threshold is updated whenever the style or the screen changes. But in practice unthemed icons are installed into /usr/share/pixmaps and this dir is not used as a base dir for icon themes. So it's better to explicitly specify fallback dirs to avoid needless access to the filesystem. Also some KDE application install their own unthemed icons (into /usr/share/<appname>/pics), that can't be found by QIconLoader. With this change it would be possible for them to specify dirs with unthemed icons and thus be displayed correctly in non-KDE environments. We now intercept both attempts at cancel operations from the system through cancelOperation, which we forward as normal key events. A new QKeySequence::StandardKey has been added for the Cancel sequence, which maps to Escape on all platforms, and Command+. in addition for OS X. The hard-coded logic in QWidget and subclasses for dealing with closing the dialogs has been replaced with this key sequence, which allows clients to override the behavior. Note that the widget code is not wrapped in checks for QT_NO_SHORTCUT, as we don't care about keeping widgets building and working under that define. The logic in QCocoaWindow to bypass windowShouldClose when delivering IM events has been removed as we now handle that specific case by also forwarding Escape as a cancel operation. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | QPlatformTheme::keyBindings() performs a binary search into an ordered list of StandardKey -> Key Sequence mappings where each StandardKey can have multiple key sequences. Previously the order of the Key Sequences in the returned list would be indeterministic and, except for the designated pri-1 key sequence, would not necessarily correspond to the list order. (The ordering was dependent on where the binary search "hits", which again depends on the size of the list.) This caused trouble when adding mappings, since it would change the order in the returned key sequence list for existing mappings and confusingly cause (apparently) unrelated test failures. Fix this by replacing the manually coded binary search with std::equal_range. One test case needed to be fixed up because it had the result in the wrong order (verified by looking at QPlatformTheme::keyBindings).
