* [docs] Remove references to C++11 feature availabilityMarc Mutz2024-01-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | QVersionNumber, e.g., was added for Qt 5.6, the last Qt version that didn't require C++11. So it made sense that the original documentation stated that certain functions were only available in C++11 mode. But already Qt 5.7 required C++11, so these historical anecdotes are no longer pertient to today's Qt users, so remove them from the docs. * QRegion: upgrade Q_ASSUME to Q_ASSERTThiago Macieira2023-03-021-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is to fix the warning qregion.cpp:3582:12: error: ‘ET.EdgeTable::ymax’ may be used uninitialized [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] Because the previous code in PolygonRegion() was: Q_ASSUME(Count > 1); But Q_ASSUME is becoming a no-op with GCC 12, so when this disappears, compiler rightly considered Count < 2 as a valid input. Therefore, when CreateETandAET() was called and had if (count < 2) return; The compiler again rightly concluded that it was a valid condition (after all, you're checking it!), leading to ET.ymax being used uninitialized. Since that Q_ASSUME really meant the condition of Count < 2 was not permitted, we may as well upgrade to Q_ASSERT in both places. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a semantic patch using ClangTidyTransformator as in qtbase/df9d882d41b741fef7c5beeddb0abe9d904443d8, but extended to handle typedefs and accesses through pointers, too: const std::string o = "object"; auto hasTypeIgnoringPointer = [](auto type) { return anyOf(hasType(type), hasType(pointsTo(type))); }; auto derivedFromAnyOfClasses = [&](ArrayRef<StringRef> classes) { auto exprOfDeclaredType = [&](auto decl) { return expr(hasTypeIgnoringPointer(hasUnqualifiedDesugaredType(recordType(hasDeclaration(decl))))).bind(o); }; return exprOfDeclaredType(cxxRecordDecl(isSameOrDerivedFrom(hasAnyName(classes)))); }; auto renameMethod = [&] (ArrayRef<StringRef> classes, StringRef from, StringRef to) { return makeRule(cxxMemberCallExpr(on(derivedFromAnyOfClasses(classes)), callee(cxxMethodDecl(hasName(from), parameterCountIs(0)))), changeTo(cat(access(o, cat(to)), "()")), cat("use '", to, "' instead of '", from, "'")); }; renameMethod(<classes>, "count", "size"); renameMethod(<classes>, "length", "size"); except that the on() matcher has been replaced by one that doesn't ignoreParens(). a.k.a qt-port-to-std-compatible-api V5 with config Scope: 'Container'. Added two NOLINTNEXTLINEs in tst_qbitarray and tst_qcontiguouscache, to avoid porting calls that explicitly test count(). * Replace usages of Q_CLANG_QDOC with Q_QDOCLuca Di Sera2022-10-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | To allow the user to customize the C++ code that QDoc sees, so as to be able to work-around some limitations on QDoc itself, QDoc defines two symbols: Q_QDOC and Q_CLANG_QDOC, both of which are "true" during an entire execution of QDoc. At a certain point in time, QDoc allowed the user the choice between a custom C++ parser and a Clang based one. The Q_QDOC symbol would always be defined while the Q_CLANG_QDOC symbol would be defined only when the Clang based parser was chosen. In more recent times, QDoc always uses a Clang based parser, such that both Q_CLANG_QDOC and Q_QDOC are always defined, making them equivalent. To avoid using different symbols, and the possible confusion and fragmentation that derives from it, all usages of Q_CLANG_QDOC are now replaced by the equivalent usages of Q_QDOC. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I made a clazy automated check that replaced the use of QVariant::Type by the equivalent in QMetaType. This has been deprecated since Qt 5.0, but many uses were not yet removed. In addition, there was some manual changes to fix the compilation errors. Adapted the Private API of QDateTimeParser and QMimeDataPrivate and adjust QDateTimeEdit and QSpinBox. QVariant(QVariant::Invalid) in qstylesheet made no sense. But note that in QVariant::save, we actually wanted to use the non-user type. In the SQL module, many changes were actually reverted because the API still expects QVarient::Type. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This makes it visible also in the overview documentation of the module, and can be used to automatically generate attribution documents. The code actually mentions the names and file versions (CVS?) where things got copied from; however, X11 seems to have stopped using CVS a long time ago, and without a server it's hard to determine the exact X11 version that was copied from. It arguably doesn't matter, anyhow, because we won't update the code anymore. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It was superseded by begin()/end() in Qt 5.8. The eventual removal of rects() will allow greater flexibility in the implementation's choice of data structure (std::vector, e.g., or QVarLengthArray). This means we need to copy information previously contained in the rects() docs to functions which previously just referred to rects(), in particular the begin()/end() familiy of functions. |/ / | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Virtually all code in Qt that inspects a QRegion does so by calling rects(), which returns a QVector<QRect>. But rects() has a problem: A QRegion that contains just one rectangle internally is not represented by a QVector, and the mere act of calling rects() makes QRegion create one. So, expose the fact that QRegion is a container of QRects to users by providing iterators and begin()/end(), which can be nothrow, since for the one-rectangle case, instead of vectorize()ing the region, we just return pointers to (and one past) the 'extent' rectangle. As a consequence, the iterator type is just const QRect*, but I think that whatever containers QRegion may use under the hood in the future, it will be certainly one that is layout-compatible with a C array. No mutable iterators are provided, since QRegion maintains a running bounding-rect, so a mutable iterator would have to call into QRegion for every change, which doesn't make sense. [ChangeLog][QtGui][QRegion] Is now iterable as a container of QRects: added {c,}{r,}{begin,end}(). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Qt copyrights are now in The Qt Company, so we could update the source code headers accordingly. In the same go we should also fix the links to point to qt.io. Outdated header.LGPL removed (use header.LGPL21 instead) Old header.LGPL3 renamed to header.LGPL3-COMM to match actual licensing combination. New header.LGPL-COMM taken in the use file which were using old header.LGPL3 (src/plugins/platforms/android/extract.cpp) Added new header.LGPL3 containing Commercial + LGPLv3 + GPLv2 license combination Change-Id: I6f49b819a8a20cc4f88b794a8f6726d975e8ffbe Reviewed-by: Matti Paaso <matti.paaso@theqtcompany.com>
