| * Support pen color with color fontsEskil Abrahamsen Blomfeldt2019-07-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Color fonts may also contain regular alphabet characters that should be rendered with the current pen. In Qt, however, these characters were drawn into the cache with a default pen color of black. Since all characters in a font is currently backed by the same cache, and it would require a lot of plumbing to get around this, a step in the right direction is to include the current pen color in the cache as long as it is an RGB cache. This means that drawing text with the color font with different pen colors will create different caches. There is no API to select font color on Freetype currently, but this problem has also not been observed there, as the fonts in question, with both regular and color glyphs, are not being detected as color fonts (so the text color will be correct). So Freetype will be left out for now. [ChangeLog][QtGui][Text] Fixed bug where regular text rendered with a color font would always display in black. * | Avoid uninitialized texture data in image glyph cacheLaszlo Agocs2019-05-281-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The problem becomes visible with styled native text materials in Quick, but only in certain cases: the regions not used by glyphs in the QImage are undefined (if they are 0 there's no problem) - but the whole code path is only used when the fbo readback workaround is enabled. When these conditions met, the styled text materials may sample locations with uninitialized data in the texture, showing small artifacts around the glyphs when shifting is involved in the styling. The non-image based GL glyph cache handles this by an explicit upload with all 0's when creating the texture - the QImage code path should do the same then. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When glyphs are converted to monochrome from an alpha map, it does not make sense to apply high quality dithering, because the result will be that some the subpixels along the edges that cover only part of a pixel are filled. This causes the glyphs to look jagged and ugly. Instead, we use ThresholdDither to fill all pixels that are >= 50% opacity. [ChangeLog][QtGui][Text] Improved appearance of monochrome text on some platforms. Additionally, QFontEngineGlyphCache was not exported, and therefore also not its vtable, making it impossible for users outside of QtGui to get a unique RTTI for the class. | * GL2PaintEngine: Prevent fillInPendingGlyphs from breaking gradientsTor Arne Vestbø2014-12-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The glyph cache internally uses the image texture unit when blitting, but doesn't always activate the unit before binding its texture, resulting in sometimes binding the glyph cache texture to the wrong unit. The image texture unit is also the same as the brush texture unit, so any time we fill in pending glyphs we need to re-bind the brush texture, otherwise drawing text with eg. gradients will fail after the new glyphs have been filled. The new hasPendingGlyphs() member function of the glyph cache is an optimization so that we don't need to activate and rebind unless there are glyphs that need to be filled. * Use truncate only for subpixel boundingBox x positionJiang Jiang2011-07-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since Lion, Core Text starts to return fractional values for x origin in the glyph bounding box. To get correct alignment we need to make it integer, it seems that round will cut certain pixels (x = 0.6 will be round to 1, then that glyph will be moved too much to the left in image glyph cache). Reverting 4297b85a appears to work fine on previous version of Mac OS X as well. This change will not affect Windows (DirectWrite) and FreeType font engines since they both return integer values for that.
