* Fix incorrect repaints with plain text editSimon Hausmann2014-04-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The plain text edit's smart repaint logic in QPlainTextDocumentLayout::documentChanged assumes that during a change inside just one block, the block is in the state before the edit and a call to layoutBlock() is going to bring it up-to-date. Then only a comparison of the bounding rect - before and after - is going to allow for smart repaints. The assumption of the layout being in the same state as before the edit got broken by commit cc57a2e90f18a39ce3c74b6ad0db9a64aa135ddf, which introduced code to use a QTextCursor within a slot connected to QTextDocument's contentsChange signal. The usage of the QTextCursor there ends up updating the layout of the block ahead of time, breaking the assumption and therefore the optimization, in the sense that during changes in the preedit that cause a change of height / line count, the old bounding rect in QPlainTextDocumentLayout::documentChanged and the new bounding rect will be the same. This causes a repaint of only the edited block, missing repaints of the following blocks, even though the line count effectively changed. So what's causing QTextCursor to mess with the layout is the attempt of updating the vertical movement x property. This patch inhibits the update, marking it as dirty for initialization later. This means that slots connected to this low-level signal cannot rely on the cursor's visual x position, but that doesn't seem useful anyway and isn't required for commit cc57a2e90f18a39ce3c74b6ad0db9a64aa135ddf. * remove finishEdit() call, fix double textChanged on deleteGraham Coleman2013-11-211-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There is a known bug where duplicate textChanged signals are triggered on backspace/delete. The bug has been seen on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Gabi showed that this duplicate signal is caused by two calls to finishEdit(), one direct and one nested, in QTextCursorPrivate::remove(). To attempt a fix, I removed the direct call and do not change the nested call. This change only affects text buffers when they receive remove commands. This seems to fix the problem, shown by the test project uploaded to the bug tracker and also in countTextChangedOnRemove in tests/auto/widgets/widgets/qtextedit/tst_qtextedit.cpp. Further analysis of finishEdit() and QTextCursorPrivate::remove(): finishEdit() calls signals contentsChanged() as long as a valid block is being edited. Remove() calls finishEdit for all non-table edits, so finishEdit will be called for most cases. Methods in the public QTextCursor all seem to set adjusted_anchor and anchor, none reading it directly, so I haven't found publicly observable consequences to "adjusted_anchor = anchor = position;". * Support visual cursor movement for BIDI textJiang Jiang2011-04-291-9/+33
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Bidi input can in some contexts be more intuitive if the cursor works in visual way: pressing left arrow key always make cursor move one character to the left regardless the language of text, pressing right arrow key always make cursor move to the right. It is also the behavior of Mac OS X. Based on the above reason and requests from Symbian we implemented this support for visual movement in BIDI text. 3 public properties are added to QTextDocument, QTextLayout and QLineEdit respectively: - QTextDocument::defaultCursorMoveStyle can be used to control the cursor behavior in all widgets based on QTextDocument, like QTextEdit, QPlainTextEdit, etc. When set to QTextCursor:: Visual, it will enable visual movement for all the cursors in the corresponding text edit. Default is QTextCursor::Logical. - QTextLayout::cursorMoveStyle is used for low-level cursor manipulation. When set to Visual, it will enable visual movement behavior for all the cursor related methods, including cursorToX, xToCursor and drawCursor. Default is Logical. - QLineEdit::cursorMoveStyle is used to control cursor movement behavior in QLineEdit. Default is Logical.: Task-number: QTBUG-13859 Reviewed-by: Eskil (cherry picked from commit c480dd641f5d22d1ee72cb27bf39e24c6df65658)
