This patch aims to implement the session management available on macOS.
Currently applicationShouldTerminate is just a go through that closes
everything and ends the application. The new implementation calls
first appCommitData and cancels the termination properly if required.
This means that if a user wishes to logout, Qt applications can now
cancel that like e.g. answering to Safari asking whether it is ok to
close because of a number of opened tab/window.

The naïve approach used for layer-backing in the past caused a detach
of the backingstore QImage on each beginPaint, since the image was
assigned to the layer via a CGImageRef that participated in the
QImage implicit sharing (and had to, so we couldn't get around that).
We now use IOSurfaces, wrapped in a QPlatformGraphicsBuffer abstraction.
The surfaces can be assigned to the layer's content the same way images
could, but allows us to reason more closely about whether or a buffer
is in use, and increases the chance that we will have a zero-copy path
to the screen.
Unless the window has requested a surface format with single buffering
we use a dynamic swap chain of buffers. In most situations there will
be two buffers in play, one assigned to the layer and one ready to
paint to, but during resize and some other situations the buffers
will grow temporarily to accommodate the increased back-pressure.
Since QBackingStore is documented as having single-buffer behavior,
we take care to persist content between the buffers before every
swap. By doing this before swapping, instead of before each paint,
we can avoid preserving areas that will be painted to anyways, and
will in many situations (such as blinking cursors e.g.) end up not
persisting anything.
The RasterGL surface case is handled by reading out the buffer data
and doing a manual texture upload. In the future we can support
direct texture access via CGLTexImageIOSurface2D, but this requires
QPlatformBackingStore::composeAndFlush to learn how to support other
targets than GL_TEXTURE_2D, as CGLTexImageIOSurface2D only works with
GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE_ARB targets.

Add support for QSurface::VulkanSurface and QVulkanWindow.
Usage:
1) Build MoltenVK according to instructions
2) Configure Qt: ./configure -I /path/to/MoltenVK/Package/Release/MoltenVK/include
3) export QT_VULKAN_LIB=/path/to/MoltenVK/Package/Release/MoltenVK/macOS/libMoltenVK.
Implement support for QSurface::VulkanSurface by enabling
layer mode for QNSView and then creating a CAMetalLayer,
which the MoltenVK translation layer can run on.
MoltenVK provides an implementation of the Vulcan API,
which means that the platform integration is similar
to other platforms: implement a QCocoaVulkanInstance
where we pass the QNSView instance to the vkCreateMacOSSurfaceMVK
Vulkan surface constructor function.
Using Vulkan directly without QVulkanWindow is possible, but not
tested.
We currently load libMoltenVK at run-time and use the
existing QT_VULKAN_LIB environment variable to set its
path. For deployment purposes it would be better to
link against MoltenVK.frameworkm, but this

Add a support test and print a warning if we try to

This test should ideally be done earlier, before
configuring the QWindow to use Metal.
Link against the Metal framework: The minimum deployment
target is already 10.11 so this does not add additional
deployment requirements.

Out of the box, this saves one delegate instance per NSMenu. It
also weak-couples the NSMenu instance with its owning QCocoaMenu,
making it safer to inspect from the menu delegate.
In the future, this will be helpful for debugging by just overriding
any NSMenu method.

Instead of masking window blitting via a CGImage mask, we use the window's
mask directly to intersect the region that we blit during flushing of the
QCocoaBackingStore. This approach also enables masking of child windows.
We now also support setting a mask for layer-backed views, by setting a
CAShapeLayer as the layer's mask.
The window shadow invalidation has been moved out of QNSView, as the view
should not be involved in that process. For layer-backed views, the shadow
is not invalidated as expected after the initial mask has been set, but
this bug has been left as a fix for a later stage as it requires more
research.

This ensures at compile-time that Qt libraries do not use any APIs that
are not safe for use in application extensions, and fixes warning
messages that appear when linking to Qt libraries that are not built
with this flag, when used in an application extension.
This is especially important on watchOS where *all* "applications" are
actually application extensions, and on other Apple platforms if
application extensions are developed using Qt.

This is just a mechanical replacement of -framework Cocoa with

We follow the same pattern as for iOS and Windows ports, making
sure the user's main() runs in a platform friendly environment. In
this particular case, it means calling the user's main() during the
call of NSApplicationMain(), and calling the user's main() function
(renamed to qMain() as in Windows) after receiving
NSApplicationDidFinishLaunchingNotification. In practice, this means
that NSApp is running when qMain() is called, and therefore when
QCoreApplication::exec() is called.
For those command-line utilities running on QGuiApplication, or any
deriving class, and that do not provide a bundle, we override the main
bundle's dictionary and get NSApplicationMain() to run as usual.
Added cocoa/cocoamain "subdir" to build libqtcocoamain.a (together with
cocoa/cocoaplugin -- plugins/platforms/cocoa is made a subdirs project).
This library is linked against all GUI Qt apps and provides the actual
main() function. It also catches the launching NSApplication notifications,
and calls the user's qMain() function. Note that this will happen in the
same cases when the user's application will run with the Cocoa QPA plugin.
Launch related code in QCocoaApplicationDelegate is moved to libqtcocoamain,
QNSApplication is removed (but sendEvent: redirection still there), and
code in QCocoaEventDispatcher dealing with calling [NSApp run] and related
has been removed since it's become unreachable.

Since there already is a one-to-one relationship
between QObject and QAccessibleInterface it makes
little sense to create and destroy the interfaces
on each call to queryAccessibleInterface.
Add a cache and keep created interfaces around for
the lifetime of the corresponding QObject.
This changes the memory management rules: accessible
interfaces must no longer be deleted. If you get an
QAccessibleIntrface pointer that pointer will stay
valid as long as the corresponding QObject is not
deleted.
This also re-enables accessibility for Mac.
We limit the range of the IDs so that they are
useable for Windows directly.
That means we can get rid of the event cache there.

it's actually used.

also replace feature-specific tests (no-gui and no-widgets) and the

Loading both the debug and release version of the cocoa
plugins causes the objective-c runtime to print "duplicate
class definitions" warnings.
Fix this by directing the plugin loader to only load
one of the cocoa plugins if both are available. Implement
this as a special case directly in QFactoryLoader.
Define QT_NO_DEBUG_PLUGIN_CHECK to allow mixing
debug and release builds.
