This was a regression from 395e2d9bc48941d6.
The system behavior is to show the menu on press, so we follow that.
This is also documented at:

When preparing a system tray icon on a system with a retina screen,
we end up creating a full-height icon of height 44. If there's also
a 1x screen available, macOS will scale down this image for us when
presenting the icon on the 1 screen, but the downscale will fail to
preserve the aspect ratio of the original image on Big Sur.
Telling macOS which device-pixel-ratio the image has seems to fix
this, and is the right thing to do in any case.

The headers are now C++ clean and can be used outside of Objective-C
code. All includes of Objective-C frameworks have been moved to the
implementation files.
Header guards have been added in the few places they were missing.
All includes are now done via #include, instead of sometimes using
the #import variant.

The code had not been touched in a very long time and was overgrown
with weeds from pre-QPA times.
We no longer maintain an indirection through QSystemTrayIconSys,
which was a remnant from Qt 4 times.
The Objective-C helper class used for callbacks has been slimmed
down to just a simple delegate, with the actual work done in the
QCocoaSystemTrayIcon implementation, further reducing indirection.
We no longer use a custom NSView for the status bar item, something
that has been deprecated for a long time. Instead we set properties
on the NSStatusItem's button. This gives us automatic support for
drawing the icon with the right highlight, including in dark mode.
Finally, the code has been updated to modern Objective-C syntax.

The conversion uses NSBitmapImageRep and correctly sets the display
pixel ratio and size of the resulting image, reducing the need for
clients to deal with this.
It also propagates the isMask property of the icon to the NSImage.
The function returns an auto-released object, as is customary for
class-functions like these.

We only need to use the QT_MANGLE_NAMESPACE macro when declaring the
interface of the class. As long as we couple that with an alias
declaration using QT_NAMESPACE_ALIAS_OBJC_CLASS, any further uses
of the class name can be un-namespaced, including declaring
categories on the class.
The only snag with QT_NAMESPACE_ALIAS_OBJC_CLASS is that it can
only be used once per class and translation unit, so forward
declarations get hairy, but we can avoid that by just including
the headers instead.

Since we need to set the delegate on the defaultUserNotificationCenter,
which is a gobal object, we have to update the delegate when we show
the message. Otherwise, the last delegate created and set will receive
the notification, and the last QSystemTrayIcon created will emit the
activated signal.
Before clearing the delegate upon destruction, make sure that it's
the right item first.

Using NSScreen as the basis for tracking screens is not recommended, as
the list of screens can be added, removed, or dynamically reconfigured at
any time, and the NSScreen instance, or index in the NSScreen.screens array
may not be stable.
Quartz Display Services on the other hand tracks displays via a unique
display ID, which typically remains constant until the machine is restarted.
The lower level API also gives us earlier callbacks about screen changes
than the corresponding NSApplicationDidChangeScreenParametersNotification
does. By reacting to screen changes _before_ AppKit does, we can remove
workarounds for receiving window move and screen change notifications
before the screen was actually visibly reconfigured.
The new approach also handles changes to the primary screen, which
can happen if the user moves the menu bar in the macOS display
arrangement pane.
The device pixel ratio of the screen has been made into a cached
property, like all the other properties of QCocoaScreen. This is
more consistent, and allows us to qDebug the screen even when it
has been removed and we no longer have access to resolve the
properties from the associated Quarts display.

On OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) the system menu bar can be automatically
hidden, in which case the menu bar height is reported to be 0 when
using the menuBarHeight API.
This resulted in failing to prepare an image for the system tray
icon item, making the tray item "invisible".
Instead we now use the [[NSStatusBar systemStatusBar] thickness]
API, which returns the correct height regardless of the menu bar
being hidden or not.

It would happen together with an error:
QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0
and would be caused by the size provided to QIcon::pixmap being empty,
itself caused by the availableSizes list being empty for the Selected
mode.
This bug was most often hidden by the fact that the Selected icon mode
was not triggered properly since we usually only set menuVisible after
calling updateIcon, and most of the time when it did, we would overwrite
it right after with a Normal mode icon.
Fix the issue by disabling the broken feature completely since the
default Selected icon is grayed out while tray icons are now usually
black (or white when selected). To support the dark menu bar mode on
10.10 we'll need to use NSImage's setTemplate anyway and that
knowing in advance if we can invert the colors ourselves would also
better solve the menuVisible usecase.

The Overall goal is to make it possible to use correctly-
sized pixmaps in a predictable way, while still doing
something reasonable with small and large pixmaps.
(The recommended pixmap height is up to 18 points.)
Enable use of rectangular icons by selecting pixmaps
based on pixmap height.
Draw a low-resolution pixmap on retina displays if
there is no high-resolution pixmap available. Scale
large pixmaps to fit the available menu bar area.
Add a manual-test with various pixmap sizes

Objective-C++ does not support namespaces. In order to make this work,
we decorate each symbol with suffix using the macro QT_MANGLE_NAMESPACE.
However, with such a technic each public symbol needs to be explicitly exported through
this macro. The use of @compatibility_alias allows to define alias to use it
automatically and transparently.
