When the drop has been handled, the target might have accepted a specific
action by calling QDropEvent::setDropAction. Don't override that with
the operation received by the OS if the drag'n'drop operation takes place
within the same application. If the operation comes from outside, we have
no choice but to trust the OS.
This way the drag-site will get the action accepted by the drop-site when
QDrag::drag returns.

A popup/context menu created via QQuickPlatformMenu doesn't belong to any
menubar, so by disabling items in a menu that doesn't belong to the currently
active menubar (5b9f6862b1), we disabled all menu items in a QQuickPlatformMenu
when a modal window was active.
For such unrooted menus, use the QCocoaMenuObject data structure to record
which window it is shown for, and only disable items if that window is not
also the current modal window.

Such windows are typically used as mostly transparent overlays on top
of other windows underneath. Letting such an overlay become the key

Key events have a wider range of possible values than the unicode range,
as they also include all the special keys as defined in Qt::Keys.
Instead of turning the argument to keyMapForKey into an integer,
we can remove the argument completely, as it was only used as a
fallback in the cases where UCKeyTranslate (or in the future,
charactersByApplyingModifiers:), failed to map the virtual key
and modifiers to a character. But in those cases we should not
fall back to the Qt key from the key event, as that doesn't
match what the keyboard layout defines. Most keyboard layouts
explicitly define the base key as the key for these "undefined"
mappings, but if the keyboard layout does not, we should not
produce any input in the application, to match what AppKit does
in this case.

Non-modal or window modal dialogs are shown at show(), via AppKit APIs
that are non-blocking. If we want to block execution at this point, we
need to spin our own event loop. The runModal API of NSSavePanel is not
meant to be used for blocking execution for already shown dialogs, but
is reserved for application modal dialogs.
This means we no longer trip over AppKit's understanding of what state
the dialog is in, which would result in the dialog not reporting back
any files. It also allows us to remove the guard for closing dialogs
twice.
We now also correctly close and end the application modal session if
the dialog is closed programmatically using Qt APIs.

Doing so results in a warning about "modalSession has been exited
prematurely - check for a reentrant call to endModalSession:", and
on Big Sur will also result in the file failing to save because the
return code from runModal will no longer be NSModalResponseOK.
This would happen when the completion handler for beginSheetModalForWindow
would call QNSOpenSavePanelDelegate_panelClosed, resulting in calls to
QDialog::done(), which in turn tries to hide the dialog, via
QCocoaFileDialogHelper::hideCocoaFilePanel().

NSTitleBarView in Big Sur will observe the window it is in, but makes
sure to remove these observers in viewWillMoveToWindow, as it should.
To avoid spamming user logs with this warning we remove it.
It was dubious what cases it would have caught anyways, as anyone
trying to KVO observe properties Z of a child object Y of X.Y would
need to track whether X changes its Y between adding and removing
the observer. There are no guarantees that Y is stable, and this
applies to an NSView's window property as well.

f4889e63c7b changed the worksWhenModal logic for QNSWindow to
be based on the transient parent relationship of the child window
to the modal session window, to fix many issues where windows that
should be blocked were not.
Unfortunately, some window types do not maintain a transient parent
relationship (e.g. QCompleter, which is itself just a QObject), or
are not common for users to create with a QWidget parent (such as
a context QMenu).
This change restores part of the special-casing that was removed in
f4889e, so that all popup windows are always allowed to be interacted
with during modal sessions. This includes popup windows that were
opened as part of a parent modal session, which would normally be
fully blocked, but we assume that popup windows are intermittent
enough that this will not be a problem.
For now we leave out the other two special casings from f4889e,
namely tool windows and dialogs. The former should in most cases
be created with a parent window, while the latter definitely should.

QChar should not be convertible from any integral type except from
char16_t, short and possibly char (since it's a direct superset).
David provided the perfect example:
if (str == 123) { ~~~ }
compiles, with 123 implicitly converted to QChar (str == "123"
was meant instead). But similarly one can construct other
scenarios where QString(123) gets accidentally used (instead of
QString::number(123)), like QString s; s += 123;.
Add a macro to revert to the implicit constructors, for backwards
compatibility.
The breaks are mostly in tests that "abuse" of integers (arithmetic,
etc.). Maybe it's time for user-defined literals for QChar/QString,
but that is left for another commit.
[ChangeLog][Potentially Source-Incompatible Changes][QChar] QChar
constructors from integral types are now by default explicit.
It is recommended to use explicit conversions, QLatin1Char,
QChar::fromUcs4 instead of implicit conversions. The old behavior
can be restored by defining the QT_IMPLICIT_QCHAR_CONSTRUCTION
macro.

(This reverts commit 2ca1253b13e77643b3d2dd993a038ae2df882311).
This allowed use to avoid backing store RGB -> RGBA conversions
on the CPU back before macOS was layer backed. The conversion should be
GPU accelerated now, and we can return to the cross-platform default.
In addition, RGBA backingstores requires filling with transparent
pixels on each paint event, which causes increased CPU usage - often
for no reason if transparency effects are not used.

We were already using the 'native' nomenclature when referring to these
kinds of APIs, e.g. when talking about native handles, or the existing
QPlatformNativeInterface on a QPA level. Using 'native' for the user
facing APIs also distinguishes them from the 'platform' backend layer
in QPA and elsewhere.

In the porting from Qt 4 to Qt 5 an assumption was made in QKeyMapper
that the underlying platform implementation needed the native scan
code to be able to resolve the possible keymaps for an event.
As a result, the macOS platform plugin started sending key events
with a fake native scan code of 1, so that it would still be allowed
to map key events.
Which in turn led to the documentation of QKeyEvent::nativeScanCode()
getting an exception for macOS.
Let's clean up this by removing the original assumption, and leave it
up to the platforms to decide what information from the key event
is needed.
QKeyMapperPrivate::possibleKeys() will still call extractKeyFromEvent
as a fallback if the platform layer doesn't return any possible keys.

If we have a platform plugin we ask the platform to quit, and if
not we fall back to the base implementation of QCoreApplication
that sends Quit events directly.
This allows the platform to involve the rest of the system in the
process. The platform will then come back with a spontaneous quit
via QWSI::handleApplicationTermination(), which will then send
the corresponding Quit even from QGuiApplication like normal.

Fix our API, so that QStringList and QList<QString> are the
same thing.
This required a bit of refactoring in QList and moving the
indexOf(), lastIndexOf() and contains() method into
QListSpecialMethods. In addition, we need to ensure that
the QStringList(const QString&) constructor is still available
for compatibility with Qt 5.
Once those two are done, all methods in QStringList can be moved
into QListSpecialMethods<QString>.

Not forwarding the native virtual key code when sending key events
in the flagsChanged handler caused a number of problems, e.g. the
inability to determine which of the Alt or Shift keys were pressed.
Use handleExtendedKeyEvent to include the native virtual key code.
Patch inspired by Nyan Pasu.

The optimization resulted in losing out on window focus changes when
for example a native file dialog was shown, resulting in the cursor
blinking both in the parent window, and in the native file dialog.

Upgrade existing functions to be virtual functions:
- virtual QString iconName()
- virtual bool isNull()
- virtual QPixmap scaledPixmap(...)
- virtual QList<QSize> availableSizes(...)
Make all of them non-const and remove the const_casts in
the implementation. Keep the default implementation
which calls virtual_hook(), for compatibility.
Note: availableSizes was already virtual, but now loses
the “const”. Port two overrides in the platform themes.
Keep virutal_hook() around for future expansion.

Change the name/key of the style to 'macos'. Besides the
name 'macintosh' being archaic, we also need this
change to avoid creating 'macintosh' style folders
in QtQuickControls, now that we plan to use QPlatformTheme
also there to resolve the style.
[ChangeLog][Widgets][QStyle] The 'macintosh' style
has been renamed to 'macos'.

Having three methods with the same name doing different things is
unnecessarily confusing, so follow the standard naming convention in
Qt and call the getter of the resolve mask resolveMask, and the setter
setResolveMask. These methods were all documented as internal.
The publicly documented resolve() method that merges two fonts and
palettes based on the respective masks remains as it is, even though
'merge' would perhaps be a better name.

Our deployment target is 10.14, which enables layer-backing by default,
and our layer-backing support nowadays is stable enough that we don't
need to maintain any of the old code paths for compatibility.
The wantsBestResolutionOpenGLSurface property on NSView is only relevant
for surface-backed views, so we no longer need to deal with it.

We observe changes to the NSWindow to pick up color space changes,
so we need to track when the platform window is destroyed and created
to match our observer with the recreated NSWindow.
This does not handle the fact that we're internally recreating the
NSWindow if certain window flag changes requires so, without letting
clients know via surface events.

The observer we add for the NSWindow of the backingstore window
will not be valid once that window is destroyed, but we may get
last minute notifications for it still, in which case our platform
window is gone.
This patch fixes the immediate crash, but reveals a more fundamental
problem of assuming the platform window that's alive during construction
is the one that will always be used with the backingstore. This is not
the case when for example QtWidgets opens a combo box, and reuses the
backingstore for the widget each time the combobox popup is shown.
