QFontMetrics(F)::width() has been deprecated and is replaced by
horizontalAdvance(). This updates all usage of it in tests and
documentation.
It is worth noting that many or most of the usages of
QFontMetrics::width() probably intended to use boundingRect().width(),
but since it currently works, I have not looked into that, just
replaced the function name mechanically.

This change introduces a new SH_Widget_Animation_Duration style hint
that applications can query instead of manually hardcoding the duration
of an animation.
As default value we use 200, which is the value that was already used in
QWidgetAnimator. A value equal to 0 means that the animations will be
disabled. This also implies that the SH_Widget_Animate style hint is
superseded and can be deprecated.
The new style hint is configurable with style sheets.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets][Styles] Added SH_Widget_Animation_Duration style
hint which deprecates SH_Widget_Animate.

Carbon is deprecated and we should not rely on it at runtime or compile
time. These headers were only included for a small collection of
keyboard key constants which have now been hardcoded instead.

Commit c5db8fc74 changed all instances of Q_WS_FOO to have the prefix
Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4 instead, to make it clearer when reading the code
that the code in question was a left-over from Qt4, when we used
Q_WS_ defines instead of Q_OS_ defines.
This worked well for cases of #ifdef Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4, but less so
for cases of #ifndef Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4, where the code was actually
unconditionally included.
To make this even clearer, the defines have been replaced by checks for
1 or 0, with a comment describing how the code used to look in Qt4. The
use of constants in the check also makes it easier for editors to parse
the condition and show visually that the code is defined out.

The QPixmapStyle class provides a mechanism for implementing pixmap based
QStyles, using the same concept introduced by the BorderImage QML component.
The bb10style plugin in qtstyleplugins uses this class and is currently the
only user.

The printf-style version of QDebug expands to a lot less code than the
std::ostream-style version. Of course, you pay in type safety (but
compilers warn about it these days), you cannot stream complex Qt
types and streaming QStrings is awkward, but in many cases you
actually improve on readability.
But the main reason is that something that's not supposed to be
executed under normal operation has no business bloating executable
code size.
This is not an attempt at converting all qWarnings() to printf-style,
only the low-hanging fruit.
In this first part, replace
qWarning() << "...";
with
qWarning("...");

By default when using Qt Style Sheets, a widget does not inherit its
font and palette from its parent widget. With the
Qt::AA_UseStyleSheetPropagationInWidgetStyles application attribute set,
propagation when using Qt Style Sheets behaves like it does with regular
QWidget::setPalette() and QWidget::setFont() calls.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets] Added the
Qt::AA_UseStyleSheetPropagationInWidgetStyles attribute which enables
font and palette propagation for Qt Style Sheets.

Cocoa is basically just AppKit + CoreData. Since we do not use CoreData
in Qt, there is no reason to link to it or (transitively) import its
headers.
This is just a mechanical replacement of -framework Cocoa with
-framework AppKit and <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> with <AppKit/AppKit.h>

We still have a bunch of Q_WS_ ifdefs in our code, which are easy to
mistake for Q_OS_ ifdefs when quickly scanning the code. By renaming
the ifdefs we make it clear that the code in question is dead.
In incremental follow-ups, we can then selectively either remove, or
port, the pieces that are dead code.

The virtual method was added for 5.0 but never called.
The old code (only checking mimetypes) is now the default implementation
for canDropMimeData. Model subclasses can now refine this by having
index-specific logic instead, or in order to inspect the dropped data
(e.g. to accept files and refuse directories, which are all text/uri-list).
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QAbstractItemView] now calls canDropMimeData in
order to decide whether or not to accept the drop.

use cast for a const pointer because the example with casting
relates to the code above where 'widget' is const.

Add defaultFormat() and setDefaultFormat() statics to QSurfaceFormat.
These define the default values for the requestedFormat members of
QOpenGLContext, QWindow and QOpenGLWidget (and implicitly QOpenGLWindow,
QQuickWindow, etc.)
This replaces QQuickWindow::setDefaultFormat() which can now be removed.
The main inspiration here is not the convenience (avoiding setFormat() calls
for all windows/widgets), but robustness: by setting the format once at the start
of the application, all windows and contexts, including the internal share context
used by QOpenGLWidget and QQuickWidget, will use the same format, eliminating
the possibility of failing due to trying to share between incompatible contexts.
Furthermore, since such a functionality is anyway mandatory for QQuickWindow
(due to the possibility of creating windows from QML code), extending it to
QSurfaceFormat and QOpenGLContext/QWindow is the next logical step.
