| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The filterEvents() implementations used a QMap<GestureType, int> for tracking whether a given type was already seen. The mapped_type was completely unused. Since the expected number of gesture types is very low, go directly to QVarLengthArray, not QSet, as the reduced number of allocation will dwarf the low overhead of O(N) search vs. O(1) for QSet or O(logN) for QMap. | * Fix memory leak when unregistering a gesture recognizerAndy Shaw2019-03-191-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When a gesture was unrecognized, then it would add itself to the obsolete gestures hash. This was cleaned up only on application exit, but as the unregister call happens whenever a widget that had registered gestures was deleted then the hash could grow quite considerably. In order to ensure the original intention of the code here, we only call unregisterGestureRecognizer() when there is a QGestureManager in place to call it on. Otherwise it would create a memory leak in itself. Change-Id: I2342f3f737b28be4af7ed531d83f02197eb66c0e Reviewed-by: Richard Moe Gustavsen <richard.gustavsen@qt.io>

* Change confusing Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4_FOO defineTor Arne Vestbø2016-10-141-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit c5db8fc74 changed all instances of Q_WS_FOO to have the prefix Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4 instead, to make it clearer when reading the code that the code in question was a left-over from Qt4, when we used Q_WS_ defines instead of Q_OS_ defines. This worked well for cases of #ifdef Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4, but less so for cases of #ifndef Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4, where the code was actually unconditionally included. To make this even clearer, the defines have been replaced by checks for 1 or 0, with a comment describing how the code used to look in Qt4. The use of constants in the check also makes it easier for editors to parse the condition and show visually that the code is defined out. Therefore, we need to harden all access to that widget since it can now be null, specially during destruction. As an example, QGestureManager may crash when we delete a top-level widget. The crash stack trace is: 1 QScopedPointer<QObjectData, QScopedPointerDeleter<QObjectData>>::data() const 2 QScopedPointer<QObjectData, QScopedPointerDeleter<QObjectData>>::pointer qGetPtrHelper<QScopedPointer<QObjectData, QScopedPointerDeleter<QObjectData>>>(QScopedPointer<QObjectData, QScopedPointerDeleter<QObjectData>> const&) 3 QWidget::d_func() 4 QGestureManager::filterEvent(QWidget *, QEvent *) <-- the widget ptr is null 5 QGestureManager::filterEvent(QObject *, QEvent *) 6 QApplication::notify(QObject *, QEvent *) 7 QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2(QObject *, QEvent *) 8 QCoreApplication::sendEvent(QObject *, QEvent *) 9 QWindow::destroy() 10 QWidgetPrivate::deleteTLSysExtra() 11 QWidgetPrivate::deleteExtra() 12 QWidgetPrivate::~QWidgetPrivate() 13 QWidgetPrivate::~QWidgetPrivate() 14 QWidgetPrivate::~QWidgetPrivate() 15 QScopedPointerDeleter<QObjectData>::cleanup(QObjectData *) 16 QScopedPointer<QObjectData, QScopedPointerDeleter<QObjectData>>::~QScopedPointer() 17 QScopedPointer<QObjectData, QScopedPointerDeleter<QObjectData>>::~QScopedPointer() 18 QObject::~QObject() 19 QWidget::~QWidget() Task-number: QTBUG-53103 Change-Id: I1bb32648270c4f7791f668b8f0b639ddb4235703 Reviewed-by: Shawn Rutledge <shawn.rutledge@theqtcompany.com> Reviewed-by: Marc Mutz <marc.mutz@kdab.com>

|/ / | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The printf-style version of QDebug expands to a lot less code than the std::ostream-style version. Of course, you pay in type safety (but compilers warn about it these days), you cannot stream complex Qt types and streaming QStrings is awkward, but in many cases you actually improve on readability. But the main reason is that something that's not supposed to be executed under normal operation has no business bloating executable code size. This is not an attempt at converting all qWarnings() to printf-style, only the low-hanging fruit. In this second part, replace qWarning() << "" << non-QString with qWarning("..%.", non-QString). QString (and QUrl etc) have special escaping handling when streamed into QDebug, so leave those alone. They also seem to expand to less code than the qPrintable() alternative, so there's no reason to replace them. Saves 2KiB, 3.4KiB, ~750b and ~450b in text size in QtCore, Gui, Network and Widgets, resp., on optimized GCC 5.3 AMD64 builds. | * QGestureManager: fix UB in filterEvent()Marc Mutz2016-03-091-2/+2

So far that is fine enough. But in order to perform the lookup, it static_cast<>s the QObject* argument to a QGesture* for the QHash:: contains() call. Even though the pointer is not dereferenced, the cast is UB. Says UBSan: qgesturemanager.cpp:558:73: runtime error: downcast of address 0x2ab83364f3a0 which does not point to an object of type 'QGesture' 0x2ab83364f3a0: note: object is of type 'QDBusConnectionManager' which is a particularly hideous error message because of the constantly-changing completely-unrelated actual type in the second line of the message: 52 QDBusConnectionManager 19 QSocketNotifier 14 QFusionStyle 13 QAction 6 QApplication 3 QGraphicsWidget 1 Window 1 TestRunnable 1 RectWidget 1 QTimer 1 QSingleShotTimer 1 QOffscreenSurface 1 QGraphicsProxyWidget 1 QDefaultAnimationDriver 1 QDBusPendingCallWatcherHelper This error is also _very_ common, triggered 116 times in a single run of make -C tests/auto check. Fix by using qobject_cast first and then doing the lookup only when the cast succeeded. Depending on the performance of qobject_cast<>, this may actually perform better, too. This change contains the changes to the accessible/, effects/, kernel/, styles/ and itemviews/ subdirs. Moved conditional code around where possible so that we could always use Q_UNLIKELY, instead of having to revert to Q_LIKELY here and there. In QWidgetPrivate::setWindowModified_helper(), as a drive-by, I swapped the evaluation order of an &&-expression (newly wrapped in Q_UNLIKELY) to be more readable and more efficient (cheaper check first) at the same time. In qDraw* (qdrawutil.cpp), simplified boolean expressions (sometimes by skipping re-checking conditions already checked in a previous guard clause). | | | | | | | | | | | | We still have a bunch of Q_WS_ ifdefs in our code, which are easy to mistake for Q_OS_ ifdefs when quickly scanning the code. By renaming the ifdefs we make it clear that the code in question is dead. In incremental follow-ups, we can then selectively either remove, or port, the pieces that are dead code. * Fix TapAndHoldGesture (others) for QWidgetsRafael Roquetto2012-11-081-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After the migration to QPA, touch events usually have a QWindow as a receiver, unlike Qt4 where receivers were QWidgets. This broke QGestureManager and gestures such as the TapAndHoldGesture, because QGestureManager::filterEvent(QWidget *, QEvent *) was never called. Since the receivers are now of QWindow type, QGestureManager::filterEvent(QObject *, QEvent *) gets called instead, always returning false. This has several side effects, one of them was causing the TapAndHold gesture to time out, because it never got a TouchEnd event (and thus it thought that the touch was still going on, even though it was not). This patch ensures that if a gesture event is meant to be delivered to a QWidget, the right event filter method is called.
