So it will be re-used by QDockWidgetGroupWindow
The Layout template argument can be the QMainWindowLayout,
or the QDockWidgetGroupLayout. They have a function
dockAreaLayoutInfo which return a QDockAreaLayout* or a
QDockAreaLayoutInfo*, respectively. These two class
have the same interface as far as QMainWindowLayoutSeparatorHelper
is concerned. (QDockAreaLayout forward most of its call to
the relevant QDockAreaLayoutInfo)
The code is mostly moved without modification, but there is a change in
startSeparatorMove, because we don't have access to the layoutState to
set the fallbackToSizeHints variable, so instead, we do that from
QMainWindowLayout::hover.

Commit c5db8fc74 changed all instances of Q_WS_FOO to have the prefix
Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4 instead, to make it clearer when reading the code
that the code in question was a left-over from Qt4, when we used
Q_WS_ defines instead of Q_OS_ defines.
This worked well for cases of #ifdef Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4, but less so
for cases of #ifndef Q_DEAD_CODE_FROM_QT4, where the code was actually
unconditionally included.
To make this even clearer, the defines have been replaced by checks for
1 or 0, with a comment describing how the code used to look in Qt4. The
use of constants in the check also makes it easier for editors to parse
the condition and show visually that the code is defined out.

As of version 10.12 (Sierra), the name of Apple's desktop operating
system will be macOS. Change the occurrences where the Mac platform
is discussed to use a macro \macos, which expands to 'macOS'. This
helps with adapting to future renaming.
Update the instructions on mac-specific Q_OS_* macro usage.
Add a \target for the old 'Qt for OS X' topic to keep links working
for other documentation modules that try to link with the old name.

If, after checking a condition, we issue a qWarning(),
by definition that check is unlikely to be true.
Tell the compiler so it can move the error handling
code out of the normal code path to increase the
effective icache size.
This change contains the changes to the util/,
dialogs/ and widgets/ subdirs.
Moved conditional code around where possible so that
we could always use Q_UNLIKELY, instead of having to
revert to Q_LIKELY here and there.
In QSystemTrayIcon::setVisible(), as a drive-by, I
swapped the evaluation order of an &&-expression
(newly wrapped in Q_UNLIKELY) to be more readable
and more efficient (cheaper check first) at the same
time.

- Introduce Qt 5 signals & slot syntax
- Use QCommandLineParser to obtain file arguments
- Merge MainWindow::createMenus()/createQToolBars()
into MainWindow::createActions(), removing the need
to store the actions as member variables.
Use QMenu::addAction() for brevity.
- Use QIcon::fromTheme() to obtain system icons and use
resource icons as fallback.
- Rewrite settings code to use
QWidget::saveGeometry(), Widget::restoreGeometry() since
saving size and position does not work well with multiple
screens. Query the available size when determining
the initial size instead of using hard-coded values
for High-DPI screens.
- Fix minor issues in code, use multi-argument version
of QString::arg(), QDir::toNativeSeparators() to
present file paths to the user.
- Fix snippet references accordingly.

We still have a bunch of Q_WS_ ifdefs in our code, which are easy to
mistake for Q_OS_ ifdefs when quickly scanning the code. By renaming
the ifdefs we make it clear that the code in question is dead.
In incremental follow-ups, we can then selectively either remove, or
port, the pieces that are dead code.

Add setContentBorderAreaEnabled() which us used to
enable or disable an area. Used together with
registerContentBorderArea() this allows changing the
border area geometry and enabled status independently.
Add section to the QToolBar show/hide event handler
which calls setContentBorderAreaEnabled().
Make sure QToolBar and QToolBarLayout uses the same
identifier - the QToolBar object pointer.
Rename enableContentBorderArea -> setContentBorderEnabled.
The "ContentBorder" is now the entire unified toolbar
area while "ContentBorderArea"s are the sub-areas
covered by toolbars.

Add registerContentBorderArea() to the Cocoa native
interface which allows registering multiple "unified
toolbar" areas for each window.
Use this function in QToolBarLayout::setGeometry()
to register the area for each TopToolBarArea toolbar.

Fix a feature regression from Qt 4.
Unlike the Qt 4 implementation this does not move
the tool bars out of the QMainWindow while pretending
they are still there.
Instead, use setContentBorderThickness from the Cocoa
platform plugin to draw a background gradient that
unifies the title and toolbar area.
QToolBar can then draw itself with a transparent
background and let the gradient shine throughout.
This is a style-only change, toolbar behavior is
kept as-is.
[ChangeLog][Platform Specific Changes][OS X] Implemented
QMainWindow::setUnifiedTitleAndToolBarOnMac.
