The documentation files are not updated. The commercial license header may contain some additional lines so that its line count equals with the earlier license header. Reason for this is that some autotests use hard coded line numbers and a change in the line count causes failures in tests. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some styles alter the widget that will influence the underlying platform window. An example is when a style would want to draw the menu with some transparency and sets the Qt::WA_TranslucentBackground attribute. This needs to happen before the platform window is created. However calling QWidgetPrivate::setScreen will end up creating the window and the surface format will be fixed at this point. * QMenu: hide when a QWidgetAction fires the trigged signalVolker Hilsheimer2020-03-031-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | QMenu hides regularly when the user interacts with it, and manages the firing of signals based on that. It ignores if a QAction that is added to it fires the triggered() signal programmatically. With QWidgetActions added to the menu, the menu usually doesn't get interacted with directly, as the widget gets the input events. Since the action can be added to multiple menus, neither widget nor action can interact with the menus programmatically. Instead, the menu needs to hide when the widget action triggers. Test included that covers the case where a QWidgetAction is added to multiple menus that are visible. Documentation updated, and removed a redudant paragraph as a drive-by change. [ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QMenu] a popup menu hides when a QWidgetAction added to it fires the triggered signal. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | screen corners The existing code positioning the menu in QToolButtonPrivate::popupTimerDone() had a clause checking whether any receivers were connnected to QMenu::aboutToShow() causing the sizeHint to be -1,-1 in that case (apparently trying to accommodate menus populated in slots). In that case, the checking for screen borders would not work, causing the similar checks in QMenu::popup() to trigger, potentially positioning the menu over the mouse. To solve this dilemma, add a parameter taking a std::function calulating the position of the menu from the sizeHint to QMenuPrivate::exec()/popup() and invoke that in QMenuPrivate::popup() after emitting QMenu::aboutToShow() when the sizeHint is known. * QMenu::popup(): don't change the menu's screen if called from exec()Shawn Rutledge2019-09-101-7/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since b3fc5e1ea3eb4fe838ac716aaca4efaa5de5a814, topData()->initialScreenIndex has always been short-lived: it only remembers the screen in case the widget parent is a QDesktopScreenWidget (gotten from QDesktopWidget::screen()), only until the window is created. Then it is reset. In the case of exec() we need to avoid calling setScreen() twice, because that would set the screen once, then forget which screen it was supposed to be on, then set the screen again when exec() calls popup(). This is achieved by using the stored eventLoop pointer to detect that popup() is being called from exec(), and avoid calling setScreen() a second time in popup(), because exec() already needed to call createWinId() before it created the event loop. | * Deal with multi-display scenarios when positioning menu popupsShawn Rutledge2019-06-211-1/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is to support rare setups involving an X11 server with multiple independent displays ("zaphod heads" on which the DISPLAY env var is different), possibly with multiple outputs forming a virtual desktop on each display. QMenu::popup() has been assuming that it should show on the screen where the mouse cursor is. That's good most of the time; but with multiple independent screens, QGuiApplication::screenAt(pos) cannot tell us which screen to use (it's ambiguous), but rather will choose the first screen that _could_ contain that position (as documented). In the example in QTBUG-76162, the QMenu has been constructed with a QDesktopScreenWidget as its parent specifically for the purpose of telling it which screen to pop up on; so we need to respect that. But QWidgetPrivate::init() sets the QObject::parent() to null (because the widget isn't actually shown as a child of the QDesktopScreenWidget), and QWidgetPrivate::create_sys() sets initialScreenIndex back to -1 to provide freedom to change the screen later; so QMenu has to remember the screen index for itself. QMenuBarPrivate::popupAction() searches the siblings of the screen on which the menubar is claiming to be (rather than all screens on all displays), to find the screen containing the point at the middle of the bottom edge of the clicked menubar item. It then sets initialScreenIndex so that QMenu::popup() will respect it rather than trying to decide for itself. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This update eliminates ALL parsing errors when clang parses the Qt headers to build the precompiled header qdoc needs. These errors are often cases where an old use of Q_QDOC no longer works because clang sees the enclosed fake declarations as erroneous. In a few cases, clang reported errors because two dummy function declartations under the Q_CLANG_QDOC guard were indistinguishable, so one of them was removed, and the documentation was patched accordingly. Using the macro Q_DECLARE_INTERFACE(...) causes clang to report errors because the class parametewr is abstract. These uses of the macro are not needed, so they are removed with #ifndef Q_CLANG_QDOC. Some declarations of default GL types that had been provided for qdoc were no longer needed, so they are removed. Now there are some member function signatures in QDBusPendingReply and QDBusPendingCall that have very long template clauses and qualifiers in their signatures. These unwieldy signatures will be unnecessary in the documentation and will look bad there, but for now they are correct. The ultimate solution will be to add a metacommand to qdoc, something like \simplify-signature to tell qdoc to generate the documentation for these member functions without the long template caluses and qualifiers. | | | | | | | | | | | There was an offset equivalent to all the margins we add to the action rectangles. We need to subtract it in order for both menu items, parent and sub-menu, to be aligned. This amount is given by the sub-menu's first action position relative to its popup. Change-Id: I141bbe3cfb81825a25b12e4059b93e61c29df518 Reviewed-by: Richard Moe Gustavsen <richard.gustavsen@qt.io>
* QMenuBar: Fix repetitive emission of triggered() when using addAction(QString)Yulong Bai2018-01-211-3/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The action which added by QMenuBar::addAction(const QString &text) already connected relevant signals and slots implicitly, however, while QMenuBarPrivate::updateGeometry -ing, it reconnects them if there's a extension button associated with a hidden popup menu. In that case the QMenuBar::triggered would be fired twice. Since the QAction's ownership may be changed or added dynamically, there are still very rare cases like several widgets share the same QAction object to result in this problem. [ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QMenu] Fixed a bug in QMenu that caused QMenuBar::triggered to be fired multiple times. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We always need to set the QMenu screen explicit also when it is about to be shown on the primary screen. The reason is QWidget::metric (called from style/sizeHint) may use qApp->devicePixelRatioF() when it does not know about the topLevelWindow. That may not be the same value as DPR on primary screen. It can be argued that it likely is a bug in QWidget::metric, but fixing that looks to be a somewhat dangerous behavior change. This updates all usage of it in tests and documentation. It is worth noting that many or most of the usages of QFontMetrics::width() probably intended to use boundingRect().width(), but since it currently works, I have not looked into that, just replaced the function name mechanically.
