* QTabBar: don't overwrite data, fix refactoring error for vertical tabsVolker Hilsheimer2021-08-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Amends 359616066e64eed947c6c91cb8902285ed79dd0d, which incorrectly changed - tabList[i].minRect = QRect(0, miny, sz.width(), sz.height()); + tab->data = QRect(0, miny, sz.width(), sz.height()); in the code laying out verticals tabs (correct done for the horizontal case). Since QDockWidget uses the user data for tabs to maintain the mapping between tabs and dock widget, this broke the layout logic. Fixes: QTBUG-95841 Pick-to: 6.2 6.1 Change-Id: Ie785e1205b426bbc4954b965f619f4c603490f76 Reviewed-by: Lars Knoll <lars.knoll@qt.io>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Dock widgets enable the QTabBar::drawBase property, but the clip region left a gap of 3 pixels on each side between the base line and the tabs. Correct the size of the hole cut into the clip region accordingly. Visually tested on macOS 10.15.7 and macOS 11.2.1 using the dockwidgets and tabdialog example. As a drive-by, fix a spelling mistake in related documentation. * QTabBar: don't let tab shine through (semi-transparent) scroll buttonsVolker Hilsheimer2021-06-091-0/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On styles where the tab bar's scroll buttons are rendered semi- transparently, or where the buttons don't fill their entire rect (for example have rounded edges), the tab that's covered by the buttons should not shine through the gaps, or even shine through the button. Clip the painter so that the area of each button is not painted by the tabs. Fixes: QTBUG-50866 Pick-to: 6.1 6.2 Change-Id: Ie81f6d260f36d5a17868822e683745844a6a6b2f Reviewed-by: Richard Moe Gustavsen <richard.gustavsen@qt.io>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | When finding the index we need to scroll to, use the one where both start and end of the tab rect are outside the currently visible section. Otherwise we wouldn't scroll when the left-most index ends outside the visible section. Add test, which requires that the scroll buttons have object names. * control scrolling of QTabBar using StyleHintSophie Kums2021-01-191-9/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Mouse wheel/touchpad scroll signals sent to the tab bar trigger cycling through the tabs. In applications where the tab bar is close to "mouse click hotspots", the cursor may accidentally be left over the tab bar instead of the main content of the window. When the user wants to scroll up/down the main conten, the scroll signals are thus sent to the tab bar and instead of scrolling, the focus switches to another tab. This is confusing to the user, because not only does the application not carry out the desired action (scrolling through the main content), it jumps to a different tab. Two common examples of applications affected by this nuisance are Konsole and any kind of browser (file browser or web browser), where the address bar is right below the tab bar. Moreover, on macOS, scroll events do not have an effect on the tab bar widget of the native UI. Currently, the code makes use of preprocessor directives to achieve consistent behavior on macOS (`#ifndef Q_OS_MAC`). This patch implements the check of a StyleHint in order to determine if scroll events on the tabbar should have an effect. This approach is more consistent with Qt coding style than OS-dependent preprocessor directives and, in addition, makes the behavior configurable according to the user's preferences. [ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QStyle] Added SH_TabBar_AllowWheelScrolling as a style hint to enable/disable cycling through tabs using the scroll wheel. This defaults to true in all styles except the macOS one so there is no change in existing behavior. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a source incompatible change for widget implementors. Leaving the old enterEvent as a virtual overload is problematic due to shadowing. Best to make a clean cut, widget reimplementors will get a compile time warning if they mark their override as such, or if they try to call the parent class implementation. Addresses ### Qt 6 comment. [ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QWidget] The virtual enterEvent handler now receives a QEnterEvent, which contains information about mouse position and button states, rather than a plain QEvent. * Refactor QTabBarPrivate::Tab and much of its usage in QTabBarVolker Hilsheimer2020-07-071-162/+167
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The type was broken in that it pretends to be a value, but didn't implement the necessary operators for save copy, move, or comparison. Tabs are supposed to be managed by Tab instance, as the crazy implementation of operator== demonstrated. Refactor the code to use it as a pointer consistently, even though this means additional allocations for each tab. This is however acceptable since there are not millions of tabs, and there is only a single place where tabs are removed from the list. Also use ranged for where possible, and never access the tabList using operator[] to avoid detaches. Use a std::unique_ptr for the animation in the tab, which implicitly protects against attempts to copy a Tab, and allows us to use the compiler generated default destructor. Add Q_DISABLE_COPY_MOVE for good measure, the compiler-generated move semantics would not work either due to the back-pointer from animation to the tab.
