That's how CommonMark specifies it. The HTML codec-guessing algorithm
was making it fall back to Latin1 in practice, which was screwing up
any Unicode characters found in the markdown source.

The code made two incorrect assumptions: that the strings used are "AM"
or "PM", or would be translated. Instead, the locale provides the
correct strings, and there is no need to translate. However, in order
not to break existing translations, we give those preference.
And that the AM/PM string is not longer than 4 characters, while in
e.g Spanish/Columbia locale the strings are "A. M." and "P. M.", ie 5
characters long. Also, the use of qMin in a function that is asked to
provide the maximum section length is wrong.
[ChangeLog][QWidgets][QDateTimeEdit] Use the information provided by
the locale to determine the AM/PM strings, unless they are already
translated.

QMacStyle polishes QMdiSubWindows to have autoFillBackground set to
false. If the QMdiSubWindow's widget also doesn't fill the background
(like QLabel), then nobody fills the window in a tabbed QMdiArea, and
the other subwindows show through.
This change makes sure that all pixels are painted in that situations,
using the styled frame.

This is to support rare setups involving an X11 server with multiple
independent displays ("zaphod heads" on which the DISPLAY env var
is different), possibly with multiple outputs forming a virtual desktop
on each display.
QMenu::popup() has been assuming that it should show on the screen where
the mouse cursor is. That's good most of the time; but with multiple
independent screens, QGuiApplication::screenAt(pos) cannot tell us which
screen to use (it's ambiguous), but rather will choose the first screen
that _could_ contain that position (as documented). In the example in
QTBUG-76162, the QMenu has been constructed with a QDesktopScreenWidget
as its parent specifically for the purpose of telling it which screen to
pop up on; so we need to respect that. But QWidgetPrivate::init() sets
the QObject::parent() to null (because the widget isn't actually shown
as a child of the QDesktopScreenWidget), and QWidgetPrivate::create_sys()
sets initialScreenIndex back to -1 to provide freedom to change the
screen later; so QMenu has to remember the screen index for itself.
QMenuBarPrivate::popupAction() searches the siblings of the screen on
which the menubar is claiming to be (rather than all screens on all
displays), to find the screen containing the point at the middle of the
bottom edge of the clicked menubar item. It then sets initialScreenIndex
so that QMenu::popup() will respect it rather than trying to decide for
itself.

Now that it's trying to guess whether the type is markdown based on
the file extension, there needs to be a way to override it. For example
it might be arranged that directory listings will be generated in
markdown format instead of HTML; then when loading a source URL that
is a directory, the application may override the type. The type for
the single-argument setSource(url) is UnknownResource to preserve
the existing behavior, but the user can override the guessing by
setting a specific type.

So we add the QTextDocument::ResourceType::MarkdownResource enum value to indicate

need to use the common file extensions to detect it (the same extensions as declared
in the mime database XML).

Add QAbstractTextDocumentLayout::markerAt(pos) for hit testing.
(Qt Quick TextEdit needs it too.) Finds out whether the position
corresponds to a marker on a paragraph. I.e. it finds checkboxes in
GitHub-flavored markdown. This enables editor classes to toggle
checkboxes by clicking them.
Use it in QTextEdit to add the checkbox toggling feature. Also show the
"pointing finger" cursor when hovering a toggleable checkbox.

f1033567aa4 improved resize of windows with custom titlebar by adding
more margin, but the check was too tight.
d2d6c6f7813 tried to fix the regression, but not totally
The mode is only set *after* the mouse press. It will always
be NoWhere the first time, so that check will always discard
the mouse press, making moving the window always fail the first time.
Also, if the rect+range contains the press, then surely the mode
won't be nowhere once set.
There's still room for optimization, like bailing out early it was
the right button instead of the left button, but that's out of scope
for this bug fix, and also not worth for 5.12 branch.
To reproduce the bug, simply:
- Run examples/widgets/mainwindows/mainwindow
- Click the red button of the blue dock widget, to make it float
- Drag the title bar (not too slow).

This user of QList depended on the stability-of-reference guarantee of QList.
Make that explicit by using a vector of unique_ptrs. Adapt to new API.
This patch does not intend to fix any pre-existing problems with the code,
such as double-lookups. It is focused on getting rid of this questionable
use of QList, so the code doesn't explode when QList temporarily becomes
QVector in wip/qt6. Not more, not less.

setHtml() or setMarkdown() can result in attempting to load resources
such as images that are needed to render the page. Whenever the
resource has a relative URL, loading depends on the baseURL having
already been set so that a complete URL can be constructed.
QTextDocument::resource() is called to load images, and uses baseUrl().
A little later, QTextBrowserPrivate::resolveUrl() is given an URL that
already has been extended with the baseURL if known; but it has its own
logic to resolve the resource URL against currentURL, or else to treat
it as a local file path if a file exists at that location. The autotest
was relying on this fallback to the local relative file path before; but
now it tests both with a local filename in the current directory for the
source HTML and also with a fully resolved source URL containing the
complete file path.
Also made minor style improvements in tst_QTextBrowser's TestBrowser class.

QWidgetTextControl and consequently QTextEdit did not emit
cursorPositionChanged() signal when cursor position was changed by a
QInputMethodEvent with a QInputMethodEvent::Selection attribute.
This is especially important on Android because QAndroidInputContext
uses such events extensively to move the cursor and also relies on
cursorPositionChanged() signal being emitted by the focus object. If the
signal is not emitted, QAndroidInputContext does not notify the virtual
keyboard about cursor position change which results in various glitches.

Before the patch the notification was emitted only when the docker
was attached to the panel or changed a position on it.
It looks like the old behavior was documented in a unittest,
so this patch might actually be a "behavior change".

QT_DEPRECATED_VERSION(major, minor) and
QT_DEPRECATED_VERSION_X(major, minor, text) outputs a deprecation
warning if QT_DEPRECATED_WARNINGS_SINCE is equal or greater than the
version specified as major, minor.
This allows the user to hide deprecation warnings which can't yet be
fixed for their codebase because the minimum required Qt version does
not provide the replacement function.
If QT_DEPRECATED_WARNINGS_SINCE is not set by the user, it's set to
QT_DISABLE_DEPRECATED_BEFORE if available, otherwise to QT_VERSION.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QtGlobal] Add new macros QT_DEPRECATED_VERSION
and QT_DEPRECATED_VERSION_X to conditionally display deprecation
warnings
