The profiler can be switched on in the middle of a frame. In that case
the last offset into the timing data would be some random number, which
may lead to a crash when recording the sample.
However, as we know all the data points we are going to record, we can
as well specify where they are supposed to go. The timings themselves
may still be random for frames of which we only recorded parts, but
the clients can deal with this.

Conflicts:
src/qml/jsruntime/qv4string.cpp
The conflict resolution for qv4tsring.cpp is to essentially omit the
change of commit 64714ea431f2fd355ed27edc69dba4e992511e75 as the code in
5.8 already uses the add/mul_overflow functions.
This merge also reverts commit f4ac007f4a19bc095ff15d415a6629986de78e49
as we can deal with dead store elimination now.

Since eea8fa64ab27854b71f46ef143e35b6c9acbba14, we're seeing increased
times in QSGNode::removeChildNode(). The reason for this seems to be
that iteration through the linked list is significantly slower than
iteration through a QList<> due to that each node needs to be loaded
in memory to iterate to the next, compared a more plain sequential
pointer compare with QList<>.
This implementation changes the nodes to use a circular double-linked
list so we can drop the iteration when removing nodes. This brings us
slightly better performance than the original QList based
implementation while still using the same amount of memory as the
single-linked list one.

QSG24BitTextMaskShader::useSRGB() on macOS accesses the current context
qgl_current_fbo member without first checking if it is valid.
Make sure it also checks qgl_current_fbo_invalid, thus not accidentally
dereferencing a dangling pointer.

If the CMAP table of a font is not present on Windows, then the
font will not be counted as a ttf file, likewise if the CMAP table
has a bug in it. An effect of this is that the glyphCount() will
be returned as 0 since we will bail out before fetching the maxp
table, and the distance field renderer assumes the glyph count is
valid.
While the font in question is obviously broken and may have other
issues, it is possible to still support using it for rendering text
by bypassing the check when we cannot get a reliable glyph count from
the font.
[ChangeLog][Windows][Text] Worked around an issue with fonts that
have corrupt cmap tables.

Doing it in QSG24BitTextMaskShader::initialize() assumed that the
FBO didn't change afterwards, but FBO can change (due to ShaderEffectSource
or item.grabToImage()), resulting in qt_sRGB_to_linear_RGB() getting called
for the case of the FBO not supporting sRGB.
The work done in 1e18a4f985f6ec is still a good idea (enabling sRGB for all FBOs),
and needed for exact rendering but this patch fixes an orthogonal issue.

The distancefield cache did not clear the textures before using
them. Hence, random values could leak through in the edges of the
distancefields, leading to random pixels at the edges of the rendered
glyphs.
This issue was rarely visible before, because of the way the glyphs
were stacked on the textures. That stacking was changed as a result of
7190aa26f65ab97b4f54c156a107ed7748a11df5, which made the issue happen
more often, so it was detected by lancelot.

Conflicts:
src/quick/items/qquickshadereffect.cpp
5.7 had a bug-fix in code dev has replaced wholesale.
src/quick/items/qquickwindow.cpp
src/quick/items/qquickwindow_p.h
One side changed a method's signature; the other side renamed a method
declared adjacent to it and changed some code using it, moving some
from the public class to its private partner.
tests/auto/qml/debugger/qqmlprofilerservice/tst_qqmlprofilerservice.cpp
One side added a blank line before a comment the other re-wrote.
Kept the re-write, killed the stray blank.
.qmake.conf
Ignore 5.7's change to MODULE_VERSION.
src/qml/compiler/qqmltypecompiler.cpp
src/qml/compiler/qqmlpropertyvalidator.cpp
5.7 changed code in the former that dev moved to the latter.
Reflect 5.7's changes there, adapted to dev's form.
src/qml/qml/qqmlobjectcreator.cpp
One side added new QVariant types; the other changed how it handled
each type of QVariant (without git seeing any conflict); adapted the
new stanzas to work the same as the transformed ones.
tests/manual/v4/test262
dev had a broken sha1 for it; so used 5.7's 9741ac4655808ac46c127e3d1d8ba3d27ada618e
