Then, if the error was QSettings::AccessError, print the specific application identifiers that weren't set so they know what they have to do. For example: QML Settings: Failed to initialize QSettings instance. Status code is: 1 QML Settings: The following application identifiers have not been set: QVector("organizationName", "organizationDomain") In my case, the QSettings instance wasn't created on Windows because organizationName wasn't set. Also, replaced cases where 0 was passed as Qt::KeyboardModifiers with Qt::NoModifier (clang-tidy replaced them with nullptr, which waas wrong, so it was just as well to make the tests more readable rather than to revert those lines). | | | | | | | | | | | Before Qt 5.4, JS arrays were passed as QVariantLists. Since Qt 5.4, they are passed as QJSValues instead. Use QJSValue::toVariant() (the same way as QQuickItemView::setModel(QVariant) which was fixed in cf959b4b) to convert JS values to QSettings-compatible variants.
