* Enforce QTextDocument::MarkdownFeature compatibility at compile timeShawn Rutledge2019-10-241-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We use md4c for parsing markdown. It provides flags to control the feature set that will be supported when parsing particular documents. QTextMarkdownImporter::Feature is a fine-grained set of flags that exactly match the md4c feature flags that we support in Qt so far. QTextMarkdownImporter is a private exported class (new in 5.14). We don't expect the corresponding flags in md4c to change in incompatible ways in the future: the md4c authors have as much respect for avoiding compatibility issues as we do, and likely will only add features, not remove them. We now enforce QTextMarkdownImporter::Features compatibility with QTextDocument::MarkdownFeatures by setting them directly. We check QTextMarkdownImporter::Features compatibility with md4c's #define'd feature flags using static asserts, so that any hypothetical incompatibility would be detected at compile time. The enum conversion from QTextDocument::MarkdownFeatures to QTextMarkdownImporter::Features is moved to a new QTextMarkdownImporter constructor; thus the conversions from QTextDocument::MarkdownFeatures to QTextMarkdownImporter::Features, and then to unsigned (in QTextMarkdownImporter::import()) are adjacent in the same private class implementation. If incompatibility ever occurred, we would need to replace one or both of those with another suitable conversion function. * Overload QTextBrowser::setSource() to add optional type argumentShawn Rutledge2019-06-201-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that it's trying to guess whether the type is markdown based on the file extension, there needs to be a way to override it. For example it might be arranged that directory listings will be generated in markdown format instead of HTML; then when loading a source URL that is a directory, the application may override the type. The type for the single-argument setSource(url) is UnknownResource to preserve the existing behavior, but the user can override the guessing by setting a specific type. * QTextBrowser: detect and load markdown rather than assuming HTMLShawn Rutledge2019-05-301-0/+1

QMimeDatabase is generally unable to detect markdown by "magic", so we need to use the common file extensions to detect it (the same extensions as declared in the mime database XML). * | doc: Document Qt namespace in multiple modulesMartin Smith2018-06-011-3/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | qdoc didn't handle this. This update fixes most of what was wrong, but tuning the details of the namespace reference pages might follw. We have namespace Qt as an exaqmple. Most of the elements in the Qt namespace are in QtCore, but a few functions are declared in QtGui. Before this update, qdoc used the hack of using #ifdef to remove the declarations from qtextdocument.h in QtGui and .cpp and then added them back into qtnamespace.h and .cpp in QtCore. Now that hack is no longer necessary. The functions in the Qt namespace that are declared in QtGui are documented there, but the documentation is linked to from the namespace reference page, which remains in QtCore. That is, only one \namespace command is used to document the Qt namespace, and it appears in qnamespace.qdoc where it always did, but the documentation for the Qt namespace functions declared in QtGui is now appears in qtextdocument.cpp where it belongs. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The new modular configuration system requires one global header per module, that is included by all other files in this module. A similar scheme and naming convention is already being used for many other modules (e.g. printsupport, qml, quick). That header will later on #include the configuration file for Qt Gui. For now it defines the Q_GUI_EXPORT macro for this library. In addition, add a private global header, qtguiglobal_p.h, that can later on include the private config header for Qt Gui for things we don't want to export to the world. * Move enums that was part of the Qt namespace to qnamespace.hJan-Arve Saether2012-09-071-8/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This caused some headache wrt documentation, since in order to generate the proper documentation for the qt namespace qdoc also needed to parse the headers of gui, which breaks cross-module linking. (This is because qdoc will actually generate two almost identical nodes in the code tree; one from the header files from gui and another from the index file of gui). The best fix would maybe be to make it part of QAbstractTextDocumentLayout, but that will break source compat.
