| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Binding without an interface and expecting the OS to select something is not supported in all OSes. On FreeBSD, I keep getting EADDRNOTAVAIL. So modify our test to only join, leave and send to multicast groups with an interface selection. With this, all tests either pass or are skipped for me on Linux, FreeBSD, and macOS. On Windows, this revealed an inconsistency in behavior, which this commit adds a workaround for. The returned QNetworkDatagram did report isValid() == false, but it was possible to get the .data() and check its size, getting nonsense. Tests in the next commit. It can be used for both receiving as well as sending data. It's called QNetworkDatagram so it can be used by QSctpSocket too, when that lands. [ChangeLog][QtNetwork] Added QNetworkDatagram class, along with new function receiveDatagram in QUdpSocket that returns it and an overload to writeDatagram that can accept it. So, it's very likely that the socket will toggle the state of notifier twice (on->off->on) in one notification cycle. This patch prevents this unnecessary toggling by deferring the notification disabling in canReadNotification() to the next notification cycle. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit changes the readDatagram() and writeDatagram() virtual functions to take a QIpPacketHeader as meta data, instead of a QHostAddress/quint16 pair. As previously, the header is an "out" parameter for readDatagram() and an "in" parameter for writeDatagram(). The header pointer in readDatagram() is allowed to be null if the PacketHeaderOptions indicates WantNone. Otherwise, it must not be null. The extra options parameter is introduced because we may not always want all the metadata upon reception. For sending, we know what to include or not based on what's set in the incoming header parameter. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On OS X and Windows, this was not working, because the socket was being bound in v6 mode (due to ::Any being for dual mode), but the address passed was a v4 address, meaning it took the wrong codepath. Linux, strangely, apparently works anyway. This is fixable in OS X (by using the v6 join path when bound in v6/dual mode), but the same fix doesn't work on Windows, failing with WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL. Don't allow this behaviour, and provide a sane error message telling the user what to do instead.
