Remove the inheritance, clone(), and operator==() and make the class a non-copyable base class. Use a QSharedPointer instead of a QSharedDataPointer to store it in QPrintDevice. Remove copy constructors and clone() reimplementations that were never called in implementations. Found while investigating QTBUG-44991. This was problematic for paint devices like printers where the physical dpi can be much higher than the logical dpi, and also for QScreen where the physical dpi would have to be defined as a multiple of the logical dpi. Add QPaintDevice::PdmDevicePixelRatio and QPaintDevice:: devicePixelRatio() getter and implement it for the QPaintDevice subclasses. Use it when calculating the highdpi scale transform in qpainter.cpp and when scaling the clip rect in qwidget.cpp. Remove physical dpi scaling for QImage, QPixmap and QOpenGLPaintDevice, reverting to the old behavior. This is in fact the CUPS Description field, is in human readable form and is not guaranteed to be unique. The CUPS Name field is the PMPrinter ID value and should be used as the unique identifier when accessing printers. This has worked up to now due to an undocumented feature in the OSX api that accepted the Name when the ID should be used. Changing all uses of PMPrinterGetName to PMPrinterGetID fixes this and allows the QPrinterInfo test of names to pass without munging the names. QtGui is meant for userland applications. qpa code is neither binary nor source compatible. Inadvertant use of QPA api makes the user code binary-incompatible. 2. syncqt creates forwarding headers for non-private header files. This gives people the impression that this is public API. As discussed on the mailing list, even though QPA api is internal and subject to change, it needs to treated differently from private headers since they will be used by in-qtbase and out-of-qtbase plugins. This commit does the following: 1. The _qpa in QPA header files is dropped. 2. syncqt now treats any file with qplatform prefix as a special file and moves it to qpa/ directory. The recommended way of using QPA API in plugins is: #include <qpa/qplatformfoo.h>. This allows the user include QPA API from multiple modules (for example, qplatformfoo might be in QtPrintSupport) 3. The user needs to explicitly add QT += <module>-private to get access to the qpa api. 4. Creates compat headers for the olden style qplatformfoo_qpa.h and QPlatformFoo includes. This commit does not change the cpp filenames. This requires a more careful merging of existing non qpa cpp files and existing cpp files on a case by case basis. This can be done at anytime. Copy qprintengine_mac_p.h, qprintengine_mac.mm, qpaintengine_mac_p.h, and qpaintengine_mac.cpp (as qpaintengine_mac.mm) from src/gui/painting/ in the 4.8 branch of http://git.gitorious.org/qt/qt.git at commit e6bd33d4aef0e4538d7918e7ab130624c911b553. The following changes are necessary to port these files to the Qt 5 API: - The copyright notice on these files has been updated to match the header.LGPL template. - Fix #includes for qprintengine_mac* and qpaintengine_mac*, as some headers have moved in Qt 5. - Remove extern forward declarations for functions that no longer exist. - Remove friend declarations for classes/functions that are not part of the Cocoa platform plugin. - Remove QT_MAC_USE_COCOA blocks. Qt is always using Cocoa now, there is no need to keep the non-Cocoa code paths anymore. The QMacPrintEngine::shouldSuppressStatus() method was also removed, since it is no longer used. - Do not use Qt::UniteClip, it was removed in commit 01b72952c38b9193138eabdab6bdab632cd75ebd - Use QCocoaAutoReleasePool in qprintengine_mac.mm - Use QPlatformPrintSupport::convert*() functions in QMacPrintEngine, since we cannot use non-exported functions from QtPrintSupport in the Cocoa plugin. - Use qt_mac_image_to_cg_image() to convert QPixmap to CGImageRef. First convert QPixmap to QImage (cheap, since the Cocoa platform plugin uses QRasterPlatformPixmap), and then convert the QImage to CFImageRef using the existing helper function. - Copy qt_mac_cg_context() to the Cocoa platform plugin from qmacstyle_mac.mm, adding a note at each location about the duplication. - Add qt_mac_QRegionToHIMutableShape() helper. Adapt the Qt 4.x code for QRegion::toHIMutableShape(), and use this in QCoreGraphicsPaintEngine. - Add qt_mac_drawCGImage() and qt_mac_get_scalefactor() helper. These functions are copied directly from the 4.8 branch of http://git.gitorious.org/qt/qt.git at the same revision shown above. - Add qt_mac_create_imagemask() helper in qpaintengine_mac.cpp. This helper is based on the function with the same name from the 4.8 branch of http://git.gitorious.org/qt/qt.git at the same revision shown above. The correctness of the implementation has not yet been verified. Since these files use the QPrinter API from QtPrintSupport, the Cocoa plugin now needs to link to that library as well.
