| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This needs to be handled a bit carefully, because Qt containers will detach upon being iteratoed over using range-for. In the cases of this patch, that cannot happen, because all containers are marked as const (either by this patch or before). Separate patches will deal with other situations. Apart from being more readable, range-for loops are also the most efficient for loop. This patch shaves almost 2K of text size off an optimized Linux AMD64 GCC 4.9 build. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If, after checking a condition, we issue a qWarning(), by definition that check is unlikely to be true. Tell the compiler so it can move the error handling code out of the normal code path to increase the effective icache size. This change contains the changes to the util/, dialogs/ and widgets/ subdirs. Moved conditional code around where possible so that we could always use Q_UNLIKELY, instead of having to revert to Q_LIKELY here and there. In QSystemTrayIcon::setVisible(), as a drive-by, I swapped the evaluation order of an &&-expression (newly wrapped in Q_UNLIKELY) to be more readable and more efficient (cheaper check first) at the same time. * Don't use QByteArrayLiteral in comparisonsMarc Mutz2014-10-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For const char*s, operator== is overloaded, so comparing to a (C) string literal is efficient, since qstrcmp doesn't require the length of the strings to compare. OTOH, QByteArrayLiteral, when not using RVO, litters the code with QByteArray dtor calls, which are not inline. Worse, absent lambdas, it even allocates memory. So, just compare with a (C) string literal instead. Change-Id: Id3bfdc89558ba51911f6317a7a73c287f96e6f24 Reviewed-by: Thiago Macieira <thiago.macieira@intel.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | There will hardly ever be 512 buttons in a wizard dialog, so specify a somewhat saner preallocation number for the QVarLengthArray, e.g. the number of available buttons. Yes, there's also Stretch, but it's unlikely that _all_ buttons plus stretch are used in one dialog, and QVarLengthArray will fall back to the heap in that case, of course.
