All these TUs relied on transitive includes of qpointer.h, maybe to a
large extent via qevent.h, though, given that qevent.h is more or less
the only public QtBase header that includes qpointer.h, something else
seems to be at play here.
Said qevent.h actually needs QPointer in-name-only, so a forward
declaration would suffice. Prepare for qevent.h dropping the include.
The algorithm I used was:
If the TU mentions 'passiveGrabbers', the name of the QEvent function
that returns QPointers, and the TU doesn't have qpointer.h included
explicitly, include it. That may produce False Positives, but better
safe than sorry. Otherwise, in src/, add an include to all source and
header files which mention QPointer. Exception: if foo.h of a foo.cpp
already includes it, don't include again.

A QPointer is used as a guard for calling setChecked on a stale object.
The guard is not checked on accessibility updates.
This patch wraps the accessibility update in a guard check.

unconditionally accessed parent which results in a nullptr access. Did
not crash because qt_qFindChildren_helper checks for nullptr and

Slot QAbstractButton::animateClick() is commonly connected to
signal QLineEdit::returnPressed() in dialogs.
The function had a parameter with a default for specifying the delay
which requires a lambda when using Qt 5 connection syntax.
Since the default value is used practically everywhere, remove
the parameter.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QAbstractButton] The interval parameter has been
removed from QAbstractButton::animateClick().

Following the deprecation of the signal overloads, the remaining signals
did not provide equivalent functionality for connecting a slot expecting
an integer. The mapping from QAbstractButton* to the ID is comparatively
cumbersome to do in the connected slot.
Add uniquely named signals that emit the ID of the button directly.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QButtonGroup] Added signals
idClicked/Pressed/Released/Toggled that replace the deprecated signal
overloads.

Keypad navigation within a group should work for auto-exclusive buttons,
or for checkable buttons that are in a button group. Since the code
already tests whether the button should be treated like an exclusive
(which implies checkable) button, use the result of that test when
finding the candidate button to move focus to, and not only when
actually changing the checked button and the focus.

As it stood, we would set 'pressed' to false regardless of which button that
was released. This would end up wrong if pressing the left button, and
at the same time, did a click with the right button. This would clear the
flag prematurely, and cause a release signal not to be emitted when later
releasing the left button.

... as it has outlived its original purpose:
Qt3 implementation on X11:
void QApplication::flush() { flushX(); }
void QApplication::flushX() { if (appDpy) XFlush( appDpy ); }
Qt4 implementation on X11:
Did nothing when QApplication::flush() was called (the flush()
overrides in {unix,glib} event dispatchers with empty bodies).
In Qt5 this function somehow has been repurposed (inconsistently)
to do what QCoreApplication::sendPostedEvents already does:
QAbstractEventDispatcher::flush() = 0;
=> QCocoaEventDispatcher::flush() {}
=> QEventDispatcherCoreFoundation::flush() {}
=> QIOSEventDispatcher (does not override ::flush())
=> QEventDispatcherGlib::flush() {}
=> QPAEventDispatcherGlib (does not override ::flush())
=> QEventDispatcherUNIX::flush() {}
=> QUnixEventDispatcherQPA (when QT_NO_GLIB=true)
::flush() { if (qApp) qApp->sendPostedEvents(); })
==> QAndroidEventDispatcher (does not override ::flush())
=> QEventDispatcherWin32::flush() {}
=> QOffscreenEventDispatcher::flush() {
if (qApp) qApp->sendPostedEvents();
QEventDispatcherWin32::flush();
}
=> QWindowsGuiEventDispatcher (does not override ::flush())
=> QWindowsDirect2DEventDispatcher (does not override ::flush())
=> QEventDispatcherWinRT::flush() {}
=> QOffscreenEventDispatcher::flush() {
if (qApp) qApp->sendPostedEvents();
QEventDispatcherWinRT::flush();
}
=> QWinRTEventDispatcher (qminimaleglintegration.cpp) (does not override ::flush())
=> QWinRTEventDispatcher (qwinrteventdispatcher.h) (does not override ::flush())
Whatever this function was doing on macOS in Qt3 and Qt4 also has been
dropped in Qt5. It appears that the other event dispatchers in Qt5 that
have overrides for flush() have simply copy-pasted this logic.
Clearly the documentation of QCoreApplication::flush() is outdated and
has nothing to do with the actual implementation in Qt5.
This function is rarely used in Qt5 sources. It should be safe to remove
the calls to QCoreApplication::flush() from Qt source code, as this
function has been doing nothing on most platforms anyways. Repurposing
it even broke handling of posted events (see QTBUG-48717).
[ChangeLog][QtCore][Event loop] QCoreApplication::flush() is now
deprecated. Use QCoreApplication::processEvents() and
QCoreApplication::sendPostedEvents() instead.

http://blog.qt.io/blog/2016/01/13/new-agreement-with-the-kde-free-qt-foundation/
Updated license headers to use new LGPL header instead of LGPL21 one
(in those files which will be under LGPL v3)

The logic for handling cancel operations was spread out through
the code base and sometimes hard-coded to only include the Escape
key shortcut, missing the Command+. shortcut.
We now intercept both attempts at cancel operations from the system
through cancelOperation, which we forward as normal key events.
A new QKeySequence::StandardKey has been added for the Cancel sequence,
which maps to Escape on all platforms, and Command+. in addition for
OS X. The hard-coded logic in QWidget and subclasses for dealing
with closing the dialogs has been replaced with this key sequence,
which allows clients to override the behavior. Note that the widget
code is not wrapped in checks for QT_NO_SHORTCUT, as we don't care
about keeping widgets building and working under that define.
The logic in QCocoaWindow to bypass windowShouldClose when delivering
IM events has been removed as we now handle that specific case by
also forwarding Escape as a cancel operation.

When pressing a button with the mouse and then moving the focus away,
the internal and visual state of the button would get updated, but the
released signal would not be emitted.
The same goes for disabling the button, although in 99% of the cases,
disabling the button will also move the focus, so the first case
already takes care of emitting the signal.

Qt copyrights are now in The Qt Company, so we could update the source
code headers accordingly. In the same go we should also fix the links to
point to qt.io.
Outdated header.LGPL removed (use header.LGPL21 instead)
Old header.LGPL3 renamed to header.LGPL3-COMM to match actual licensing
combination. New header.LGPL-COMM taken in the use file which were
using old header.LGPL3 (src/plugins/platforms/android/extract.cpp)
Added new header.LGPL3 containing Commercial + LGPLv3 + GPLv2 license
combination

QButtonGroup emits signals on clicked, pressed and released for
buttons in the group, but for some (insuffienct) reason it did
not emit anything for toggle (the only signal that it didn't emit
anything for).
This patch changes that, by adding handling of that signal to
QButtonGroup.

Remove all trailing whitespace from the following list of files:
*.cpp *.h *.conf *.qdoc *.pro *.pri *.mm *.rc *.pl *.qps *.xpm *.txt *README
excluding 3rdparty, test-data and auto generated code.
Note A): the only non 3rdparty c++-files that still
have trailing whitespace after this change are:
* src/corelib/codecs/cp949codetbl_p.h
* src/corelib/codecs/qjpunicode.cpp
* src/corelib/codecs/qbig5codec.cpp
* src/corelib/xml/qxmlstream_p.h
* src/tools/qdoc/qmlparser/qqmljsgrammar.cpp
* src/tools/uic/ui4.cpp
* tests/auto/other/qtokenautomaton/tokenizers/*
* tests/benchmarks/corelib/tools/qstring/data.cpp
* util/lexgen/tokenizer.cpp
Note B): in about 30 files some overlapping 'leading tab' and
'TAB character in non-leading whitespace' issues have been fixed
to make the sanity bot happy. Plus some general ws-fixes here
and there as asked for during review.
