| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The old code assumed that a QByteArray's data() is always NUL-terminated. Due to the conflation of owners and non-owners in QByteArray (but also in case we ever get efficient substringing), this is not always the case, e.g. QByteArray::fromRawData() does not ensure NUL-termination. From QString::utf16(), we learn that the condition to check for is QArrayData::isMutable(). After working around the fact that QByteArray::data_ptr() doesn't exist for const QBAs and that empty QBAs always refer to QByteArray::empty_, which is !isMutable(), we can detect this situation and re-allocate without introducing new API. This is the fix for Qt ≤ 6.4. For Qt 6.5, we'll port the function to QByteArrayView. For Unix, since most environment variables seem to contain path names, qEnvironmentVariable will do the same as QFile::decodeName, which means NFC/NFD conversion on Apple OSes. I opted not to #include <qfile.h> from qglobal.cpp to implement that QFile::decodeName functionality, so qglobal.cpp doesn't depend on corelib/io and to avoid possible recursions. QByteArray::toInt() verifies that the entire string was consumed, so QByteArray("1a").toInt() == 0, but qstrtoll alone doesn't. That is, qstrtoll("1a", ...) == 1. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The existing tst_qgetputenv shows that qputenv with an empty value doesn't lead to the same result on Windows and on Unix, and there was no way to fully delete an env var on Unix (which is needed for some env vars where not-set and empty are different, such as TZ, see `man tzset`). This is also why qglobal has qEnvironmentVariableIsSet() vs qEnvironmentVariableIsEmpty(), on the getter side. Qt4's ifdefs around unsetenv in qapplication_x11.cpp show that this is needed within Qt too (although this particular startup notification code has to be re-imported into Qt5 still).
