When writing out a float value, the output string is encoded as QVariant
for no reason. Looks like an oversight when QMetaType::Float was added a
long time ago.

On macOS, the code that read the plist is using
QByteArray::fromRawCFData. When we return the data directly
we need to detach the QByteArray so that it does not point
CFData's data that will get deallocated just after the call.

If we detect a utf8 BOM mark at the beginning of the .ini
file, skip the marker and set the iniCodec to utf8.
