The test function used to flake on Linux occasionally.
8e6ede7cd131682161180bfab0cc46686674709b provided a fix. While it
seemed to work, further analysis has shown that the root cause is
event sequence in case of multiple paint events.
This patch re-engineers the test function:
1. Allocate test widget on the stack instead of the heap.
2. Send layout requests posted by QHBoxLayout constructor and
QLayout::addWidget() before showing the widget.
3. Remove calls to QCoreApplication::processEvents().
They are unnessecary, because
- the size hint request counter is supposed to increase (by any number)
- QTRY_VERIFY processes events anyway until the counter increases or it
times out.

The test function places a QSpinBox in a QHBoxLayout, which has a
QWidget parent. The spin box is expected to be shown with the widget.
While the widget is the layout's parent, the layout is not explicitly
set. That makes the test function flaky in some cases.
This patch adds QWidget::setLayout() to explicitly set the layout on
the widget.

This is a semantic patch using ClangTidyTransformator as in
qtbase/df9d882d41b741fef7c5beeddb0abe9d904443d8, but extended to
handle typedefs and accesses through pointers, too:
const std::string o = "object";
auto hasTypeIgnoringPointer = [](auto type) { return anyOf(hasType(type), hasType(pointsTo(type))); };
auto derivedFromAnyOfClasses = [&](ArrayRef<StringRef> classes) {
auto exprOfDeclaredType = [&](auto decl) {
return expr(hasTypeIgnoringPointer(hasUnqualifiedDesugaredType(recordType(hasDeclaration(decl))))).bind(o);
};
return exprOfDeclaredType(cxxRecordDecl(isSameOrDerivedFrom(hasAnyName(classes))));
};
auto renameMethod = [&] (ArrayRef<StringRef> classes,
StringRef from, StringRef to) {
return makeRule(cxxMemberCallExpr(on(derivedFromAnyOfClasses(classes)),
callee(cxxMethodDecl(hasName(from), parameterCountIs(0)))),
changeTo(cat(access(o, cat(to)), "()")),
cat("use '", to, "' instead of '", from, "'"));
};
renameMethod(<classes>, "count", "size");
renameMethod(<classes>, "length", "size");
except that the on() matcher has been replaced by one that doesn't
ignoreParens().
a.k.a qt-port-to-std-compatible-api V5 with config Scope: 'Container'.
Added two NOLINTNEXTLINEs in tst_qbitarray and tst_qcontiguouscache,
to avoid porting calls that explicitly test count().

The function is used the internal window activation machinery and
should not be called by user code.
Many tests still use this function, and should be ported over to
QWidget::activateWindow(). For now they are using the private
helper in QApplicationPrivate, so that we can progress with the
public API deprecation.

On a mobile device, selecting text in a line edit brings up the text
action popup for select/copy/cut. In a spinbox where the user changes the
value using the buttons, this can be very irritating, without providing
any usability - the user is unlikely to start typing, at least not
without first transferring focus into the lineedit first to bring up the
keyboard.
This style hint allows styles to override the default behavior of
QAbstractSpinBox. Implement the customization for the Android style, and
add a test case for QSpinBox.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QStyle] A new style hint, SH_SpinBox_SelectOnStep,
specifies whether pressing the up/down buttons or keys in a spinbox will
automatically select the text.

The use of "Country" is misleading as some entries in the enumeration
are not countries (eg, HongKong), for all that most are. The Unicode
Consortium's Common Locale Data Repository (CLDR, from which QLocale's
data is taken) calls these territories, so introduce territory-based
names and prepare to deprecate the country-based ones in due course.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QLocale] QLocale now has Territory as an alias for
its Country enumeration, and associated territory-based names to match
its country-named methods, to better match the usage in relevant
standards. The country-based names shall in due course be deprecated
in favor of the territory-based names.

In Qt 5.0, delta() and orientation() were already marked obsolete,
but Widgets and tests have kept on depending on them all this time.
We now start using alternative API so they can really be deprecated.
All constructors except the newest one are also deprecated.
The plan is for all events from pointing devices to have
QPointF position() and globalPosition(), so we deprecate
the other position accessors.
[ChangeLog][QtGui] Obsolete constructors and accessors in QWheelEvent
now have proper deprecation macros. What is left is intended to be
compatible with planned changes in Qt 6.

Some QSpinBox tests start failing after reverting to using legacy mouse
messages to handle mouse input in the Windows QPA. It seems to be caused
by a test that runs before it and moves the mouse cursor. Then when the
QSpinBox tests run, they create widgets that appear below the mouse
cursor, causing some mouse events to be generating and messing with the
events synthesized by the test itself. With the pointer messages being
used for mouse input, the legacy mouse messages that are generated under
this condition were being ignored. But by reverting to the old
implementation, the legacy messages are handled again, causing the test
to fail. This change moves the mouse pointer to a safe position during
the test initialization, so it does not depend on the state left by
previous tests. This change needs to be integrated together or before
the change in the windows QPA.

This patch allows the developer to pick which keyboard modifier
increases the number of steps a QAbstractSpinBox takes when the user
interacts with it.
The modifier can be either Qt::ControlModifier (default),
Qt::ShiftModifier or Qt::NoModifier. Qt::NoModifier disables the step
modifier. Note that on macOS, Control corresponds to the Command key.
Holding the modifier increases the step rate when:
- scrolling;
- pressing the up/down keys;
- pressing the spin box up/down buttons.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QStyle] QStyle::SH_SpinBox_StepModifier allows
the developer to pick which keyboard modifier increases the number of
steps a QAbstractSpinBox takes for the following interactions:
scrolling, up/down keyboard keys and the spin box buttons. The
Qt::ShiftModifier can now be used, or the feature can be disabled
using Qt::NoModifier. Previously, only Qt::ControlModifier could be
used as the modifier.

Adds the feature of adaptive decimal step sizes for the QSpinBox and
QDoubleSpinBox. By performing a calculation in
QAbstractSpinBox::stepBy() we continuously set the step size one power
of ten below the current value.
So when the value is 1100, the step is set to 100, so stepping up once
increases it to 1200. For 1200 stepping up takes it to 1300. For
negative values stepping down from -1100 goes to -1200.
It also works for all decimal values. 0.041 is increased to 0.042 by
stepping once, and so on.
The step direction is taken into account to handle edges cases, so that
stepping down from 100 takes the value to 99 instead of 90. Thus, a
step up followed by a step down -- or vice versa -- lands on the
starting value; 99 -> 100 -> 99.
Setting this property effectively disregards singleStep, but preserves
its value so that it takes effect again when adaptive decimal step is
disabled.
Adaptive decimal step allows values to be easily set to reasonable
levels. If the spin box value is 12000, changing to 13000 often makes
more sense than to 12001. The feature is turned off be default, when
single stepping is desired.
The accelerated property allows values to be changed quickly, as well,
but it is imprecise. Holding down the button makes it hard to land on
an even thousand, like 12000 or 13000. Often you end up somewhere
nearby and would need a second adjustment to get to an even hundred or
thousand.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets] Add option of adaptive decimal step size for
QSpinBox and QDoubleSpinBox.

spin box.
The derived classes (QSpinBox, QDoubleSpinBox, QDateTimeEdit, QTimeEdit)
set various input method hints on the spin box in the init() methods
of their private classes which did not have any effect since
QAbstractSpinBox::inputMethodQuery() was implemented to return the
hints of the embedded QLineEdit only. Change it so that hints set
on the QAbstractSpinBox are also considered.

Qt copyrights are now in The Qt Company, so we could update the source
code headers accordingly. In the same go we should also fix the links to
point to qt.io.
Outdated header.LGPL removed (use header.LGPL21 instead)
Old header.LGPL3 renamed to header.LGPL3-COMM to match actual licensing
combination. New header.LGPL-COMM taken in the use file which were
using old header.LGPL3 (src/plugins/platforms/android/extract.cpp)
Added new header.LGPL3 containing Commercial + LGPLv3 + GPLv2 license
combination

Only step the value in the spin box when we have accumulated one wheel
tick worth of wheel delta.
Also fixes the obsolete contructors of QWheelEvent so they set the non

This is useful for widget styles to react when widgets are set
read-only, e.g. to update their palette accordingly.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets] All widgets with a setReadOnly method now
send a ReadOnlyChange event (e.g. for app-specific palette changes)
