Run unit tests with pytest in git hook and enable concurrency
Speed up the execution of unit tests by utilizing pytest-xdist instead
of the executor included in Python's vanilla unittest framework.
Run build_wrapper tests in a TemporaryDirectory and small changes that
improve the readability.
